Air intake question

I have a 1986 and am thinking about putting in an air intake with throttle body. Any feedback on this and any suggestions on make to use would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm confused with your question... you do have an air intake and you do have a throttle body...what are you looking to do?

I am looking to install an aftermarket cold air intake. I was told I should install a throttle body at the same time. I don't have either

Unless your engine is over 300 horsepower, don't bother.

save your money like other members have stated. a good set of gears will help

No gears necessary on an L98 engine.

I have a cold air intake, it sounds good, but really does not do much. Neither does a larger throttle body.

If you want to improve performance on an L98, do the exhaust system, or start working on the TPI intake itself. If its an 86E, then you have poor heads that are a big restriction as well.
