Dyno Results - RPM B3 / Mamo MSD / Flex Fuel
6 Attachment(s)
Background: I purchased this car back in January from a guy out in Kansas and as fate would have it my first drive was in the snow on bald Michelin PSS tires 900 miles back to Chicago :D Once I got the car home I started by going thru everything mechanically to ensure it was in a good state of tune and also got rid of some of the "rice". The car already had WCCH heads (stock compression), Borla S-type exhaust, Top Speed 1 7/8" headers, 3" off road pipe, and K&N intake. It also had 53k miles on the clock, but I felt pretty comfortable after contacting a few of the prior owners to get the history (5 owner car) and confirmed the heads/tune were done from Vengeance racing, plus the price was too good to pass up on.
I had a pretty good idea on the mod path I wanted to follow based on this forum and Facebook pages. Fast forward to today and the local shop I used to get everything done at (Speed Inc.) emailed my results. When I dropped the car off the service manager estimated it would make 550whp and I told him not to call me until the car made 6xx :D I don't get hung up on dyno sheets and prefer to prove a time at the track, but I had a good idea on ballpark numbers it should make. I used to tune imports and had 9 sec Evo that trapped low 150's so I'm power hungry to say the least. This is probably stage 1 and if this doesn't feel fast enough I'll probably build the motor and do an A&A kit and keep it around 850-900whp. I'm picking the car up Saturday and will report back with initial drivability and some seat of the pants once I put some miles on the new clutch. This forum has a wealth of info that helped me achieve my N/A goals :flag: Current Mods: Vette Air Scoop Halltech MF103 w/ Beehive NW 102 TB Mamo MSD RPM B3 Cam WCCH Stage II Heads (Stock Compression) ATI 10% UD DSX Flex Fuel Kit ID1350x Injectors Walbro 450 Kooks 2" Headers / 3" X-Pipe (off road) Borla S-Type Exhaust McCleod RXT w/ Steel Flywheel Mighty Mouse Wild Catch Can BTR Trunions C7R Timing Chain Oil Cooler Delete Dashlogic w/ PLX SM-AFR wideband & Cobalt 2-Bar MAP Flex Fuel Tune Dyno Sheets (Top to Bottom): 1. Holy crap 624/540 SAE is probably very close to a 140 MPH car.............That will put a butt hurting on plenty of modified ZR1's and newer Z06's.
|
Glad the cam worked out as great for you as it has others :)

Very nice results. I have a very similar setup as you (RPM B3, Mamo MSD) and my results were the same as yours. I have not done E85 yet, but I most likely will this winter.
However, I am going to switch my cam to something slightly smaller because my car will buck and surge when rpm's are less than 2200 and I can't deal with it. I actually just had Tony Mamo custom spec a cam for me so we will see. I took my car our local 1/4 track (ZMAX) yesterday on MPSS and I was spinning in 3rd so my speeds and times weren't that great, 126mph. With a proper tire setup there is no doubt that this setup will trap 137 to 140+. |

Who tuned the car? So you have Hp tuners? If so send me the file. Our cam when tuned right should drive great

Some initial driving impressions since picking up the car:
1. It pulls like a raped ape above 4000 rpm. Traction in 1st & 2nd is non-existent. I've only done a few 3rd gear pulls since I'm still breaking in the clutch, but the car should run a decent time with a solid DA and decent 60'. 2. The McCleod RXT is really nice and not much more effort to modulate than stock. I'm assuming it will get better with mileage. I get minimal chatter when slipping it from a stop. 3. Idle is set around 950 and sounds pissed off. I went to a local Chrome n Coffee yesterday and was probably one of the louder/meaner sounding cars up there. 4. Surge: I used to have huge cam'd imports with low displacement (2.0L) & TQ so I'm accostomed to having to modulate clutch/gas. It's not too bad with the B3. From a stop I need to give it a little more gas and slip the clutch a little more, but overall after a day of driving I'm getting smooth takeoffs and no bogging or herky jerky. Cruising along between 1500-2000rpms there is some faint surge, but nothing I wouldn't consider normal for a cam this size. I'm guessing most of this could be eliminated with more fine tuning, but it's not a big deal for me. Parking lots at low speeds requires more clutch modulation to keep the car from bucking, but again nothing major. Overall the car sounds wicked, pulls hard, and drives nice. Still have to put a few more miles on it, then it's time to add to the kill list :reddevil |
Good shit.. There's a few B3 cars in my area that I want to run. See what all the hype is about.

Nice results
