Hard Shift on 675 Supercharged Vette
 

I am looking at a 2002 Corvette that has a Lingenfelter Supercharged 675 HP Motor. When I test drove it I noticed that the Automatic Transmission shifted hard from 1st to 2nd. The owner said that with that many HP that the seemingly hard shift was necessary to get positive engagement due to the Torque of the engine. Does this sound right or does it sound like the transmission is going out? I don't want to buy someone else's problem.

I'm NO expert at all, but it might just need the shift points adjusted by a knowledgeable tuner.When mine was S/C @ 575 it shifted hard in some points, but even after taking off the a S/C it still shifted hard. Had the shift points adjusted and now it's nice and smooth, that is until I get on it hard. Good luck, L8R ZFLASH

I have more power than you. My auto does not pound. The problem that you are having ,is a incorrect tune for your tranny.

Hes not incorrect, part of what kills a 4l60e is sloppy engagement between gears... a higher commanded line pressure and firmer shift is much better for the life and longevity of the transmission even if its not the most conducive to comfortable driving. It allows a smaller time of slip in the clutch packs which prevents premature wear.
