Hi R,
The engine compartment photos of your car are terrific!
What a great looking group of cars in your photos!!
How many cars were in the 68-69 and 70-72 groups?
Regards,
Alan

Thanks Alan!

IIRC there were 17 C3's total, spread out over Bowtie, Duntov and Flight Judging. I believe mine was the only C3 driven to the event.

1 - 68 (base engine)
5 - 69's (2xL-36, L-46, L-89, L-88)
2 - 70's (Base engine, L-46)
5 - 71's (all LT-1's)
1 - 76 (L-82)
1 - 78 (Pace Car)
2 - 81's

Actually, there was 1 '81 (mine) and 1 '80. They do look a lot alike.

Great Job!
Pics of the old school town are really cool.
It reminds me of the old west.
You have some cool towns in Texas.
Never been there thanks for sharing your day with us and blue ribbon to boot.

As an owner of a mostly original 68 BB, I think you did great!
I would not change anything as you have decided already for a couple extra points.
My drivers seat has a small hole in the lower vinyl seated cover.
I like the original seat covers with the white linen stitching.
it's not made like that anymore so I'd have to change a perfect passenger seat out to match.
Sometimes its better left alone, I like your decision on this one.
With enough money any one can purchase an overly restored corvette.
The originals are slimmer Pickens. I like being part of that minority.

There were 10 Judges total that looked at the car. Two each for Operations, Mechanical, Interior, Exterior and Chassis. Seven of the ten Judges had seen the car before at one of the different events that I had attended.
The majority of the points that I lose are "condition" points, which goes hand-in-hand with a driver, which is expected. My leather seats are original, but show some wear. I lose a couple of points which is fair, but I'm not going to replace the original leather.
The mechanical items/parts on the car are about 99% original, so there's very points lost there. One item is an original St. Louis installed oil filter. There's still some floating around, but the cost per point isn't worth it to me. I'd still end up with a 97.x% anyway.
