Same as what I got a few months ago. I was able to get in on the 20% off deal. Missed out on the manual though. Nightfall, sunroof, no spare here. 3500 miles so far and really enjoying it.

What 20% off deal?

Good question. I been following these cars since Jan hoping there would be a massive rebate or sale price. I must of missed the 20% off as well.

I, too, like both the G8 and the SS. Both very good "sport sedans."
But the SS is just too expensive, IMO (says the man who bought C6 ZR1 new six yrs ago...:hide: ).

I'll may try to buy a good-condition 2015 in either 2019 or 2020 that qualifies for the GM CPO program.
That's about when I'll need another DD sedan...

I also missed it. Apparently GM wanted to get rid of a lot of inventory and offered 20% off of MSRP in March 2017 (i.e. make your best deal) as a GM contribution, not the dealer. A win-win. Unfortunately, like everything else that Chevy has done with the SS, it was not advertised.

So now it's a crap-shoot: if you can even find a dealer that has some in stock, you'll either get a decent deal because they want to get rid of them, or they'll have the attitude that "there will be no more" and won't budge on price. Especially on the 6-speed manual, which is rare.

Those are great cars. It's a shame they never marketed them. Planning on getting one soon. A few months ago the local stealership gave me a weird look when I asked if they had any. Said the closest dealership with them is Montgomery. Okay then! See ya

I dont see any great profit opportunities with this car. Its something you don't see every day and is a serious "sleeper". Maybe in 2-3 years one will be parked at our house. But by then the 6 cylinder turbo's will be even faster.

I didn't buy it for the profit opportunity. I bought it because I wanted a comfortable, powerful, RWD car that didn't cost $80K like all the German stuff I've had before.

My thoughts as well. There is a new 6 speed close to me. If I can buy it for $40k before taxes it will find a place in my garage.

I was shopping these when I bought my sedan. I chose the very limited production Dodge Charger Daytona Edition in Daytona Blue Pearl............it's a perfect daily and you absolutely will NOT see another one the street.

I think this is a very neat car.
But I'll go out on a limb (and hopefully no offend the OP) and say that in a couple of years these will present a smoking deal on the pre-owned market as the prices drop. The '15's are in the mid-$30's now and will probably be in the $20's by next year.
The only issue is that although the cars are available in a 6-speed manual, the vast majority are automatics. Otherwise, these appear to be an very nice car.

:iagree:

While it certainly is a cool car and a real sleeper, it is still a Chevy. Just like every other GM product, the price will plummet in a couple of years.

While the G8 was sold in Canada, the SS never was. I plan to buy a used SS in a couple of years, and import it. OP, seriously nice car, and I hope it gives you many years of enjoyment.

You guys may be right. But I didn't buy it as an investment, it's just my DD. I come from the world of BMW, Porsche and Mercedes, so this car can plummet and I'll still be ahead.
