Thank you. Yes, they refer to them as Roof Rails after the NASCARs.

Interesting. Does it drive now? Think it would make it back to IL?

This car is about as close to buying a new 2000 Grand Prix GTP Daytona 500 edition as you're going to find. I would feel comfortable driving this car anywhere. It really only has 77XX orig miles. Thank you.

How many miles have you put on it since you acquired it?

Under 50 miles. I bought it with the anticipation of keeping it, but the storage situation did not work out. I have a one car garage and driveway. 1970 Monte Carlo in the garage, this, a Corvette, and another 2000 GTP, all take up the driveway. I just can't find a place to put it and It makes me nervous leaving it outside under a cover. This is the cleanest Grand Prix I've seen and I've been into them since 1998 when I purchased a 1995 GTP.

Thanks Waupachino, I've got a '02 Monte Carlo SS with the 3.8l for my DD and I love it but it's getting over 205,000 miles on the clock!

I was just wondering what issues would arise once it starts being driven with having set for its life.

This car has peaked my interest for sure!

My DD is a 00 GTP coupe with 346K on the odometer. It made it to 330K before losing a roller lifter. That's when I swapped in a 57K used motor. These things are know for their reliability. This car had a very easy life and it shows. It was stored inside and only driven on nice days. The tires are original and show no signs of dry Rot.

I just sold my DD 03 GT, if you were closer I just might have to replace it with this. I always loved these W bodies, they run forever. Good luck with the sale.

Ahh, cool to see one of these old GTPs again. The family used to have a '98 GTP sedan, green with the gold wheels. Quite the sleeper back in the day. Was very surprised that the motor on it blew up, it only had 138k miles on it (piston collapsed). Never understood why it happened since it was well maintained unless the previous owners didn't change the oil or something. I had a SII S/C 3800 in a Buick that ended up going 168k miles before the trans started going out, engine was still strong though. Anyway, GLWS looks very clean!

I got close. I accepted $8k Cash. It went to a man that has all Pontiacs and I believe will be well taken care of and appreciated. I know I'll never find a cleaner lower mileage one again, but I just didn't have the room to keep it with 3 other cars and a 1 car garage.
