Drooling - 2017 V Caddie!
 

So I had to take my other car, 2013 LaCrosse Premium to the dealer (Jim Hudson) to get the passenger side headlight assembly replaced (HID $$$) due to a crack.

Low and behold there sitting in the showroom is a 2017 V. WOW!!! I traded in my 2007 V for the LaCrosse in 2013, which is the best sedan I have ever owned (V6, 304hp, sport suspension, loaded...I'm 59).

The V is all black, has carbon fiber lip, spoiler and side skirts, 8 speed auto with paddles...$108K...one beautiful car.

Last time I was in a Cadillac dealership it was to use the body shop because my insurance adjustor it was the best in his network. When I went to pick up my car I had to show them it needed additional work to be correct. They apologized and offered me a new Caddy to take home, I refused and they asked why. I told them "what would my neighbors think if they saw that in my driveway?" I have a reputation to uphold. Manager seem very confused.

$108K?? Must have a ton of dealer installed markups in those numbers.

It's no slouch - 640 hp, 200 mph top, brembo brakes, 8 speed, recaro seats, 1/4 mile 11.8 - I wouldn't mind taking it for a spin, but still wouldn't pay that kind of money.

Drive it off the lot, it becomes a $55k car.

Meh. It does not instill any emotion in me when I look at it like a corvette does. It looks like just another car albeit a fairly fancy expensive one. I do understand that they are supposed to be a pretty incredible car though.

Drove a 2017 and the car is an insane piece of engineering. I had a prior generation 2012 V Sedan and I thought that car was a lot of fun. The CTS-V has pretty strong resale. Traded my 12 in for an Audi S6 and got some strong numbers for it.

Say what you want....this isn't Uncle Fred's Sedan DeVille! This car can outrun BMW's M Series, Mercedes AMG and the rest of those Euro/Asian super sedans.

Love my current Audi but may got back to V next year. They're way more fun!

100k is outrageous. I love the car, but the pricing is becoming absolutely crazy.

In 2010 I bought a 2009 CTS-V. Obviously the last generation V but still supercharged with 556 HP. The $72,000 sticker in 2009 went for $50,000 one year and 2,200 miles later (of course everything was on sale in 2010). Was it fast, yes. But I didn't love the car. It was an automatic sedan. In 2014 I sold it and bough my convertible C-5 manual. Everyone asked why? The cost was half of what I sold the Caddy for and it's twice the fun. Obviously it's a very different car but I have no regrets at all.

Looked at an ATS-V Coupe...72k.

So, I keep my 08 LS3 3LT, trade 2 cars and get a 17 Dodge Charger Scat Pack 392 for a DD. Loaded with 485 HP for $39k.

Very nice but $100+ is a bit high.

I had a 2009 CTS-V and this latest generation is a big improvement. Earlier this year I had a chance to drive a 2016 CTS-V for a couple of hundred miles and could see myself driving one again.

Had a 2017 CTS 3.6 rental. Overall it was a nice car, V would fill in all the shortcomings I held against the car.

I loved everything about my 2017 V, except the Recaro seats. There are a couple of owners that were on the Caddy V boards that has said the same thing. I just couldn't get comfortable. Any trip over 2 hours would require a break.

I got my car off a GM exec lease and paid 78k for it with 12k miles. Ended up selling it for a small loss. Hated to do that, but just couldn't get happy with being uncomfortable in a car that I felt should be comfortable for an easy 6+ hours in the saddle. I looked for ways to swap out the Recaro's for the base seats (which I liked) but no luck.
