Dream car
If you're like me, you have a dream car that's always been just out of reach. It might be a Corvette or Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc. Its now within my reach but there's a problem. It's not the original engine or color but it's in the configuration that I like. I can't afford the "real deal" but even though it's cheaper, it's still expensive. I'm a young "65" but nobody knows how much time they have. I'm curious how many of you would still pull the trigger?

If the answer is yes, than I say, yes buy it... Good luck... GUSTO |
As the famous poet once said: "Time and tide wait for no man", if you like the car and can afford it, and the price is fair for what you are getting, do it.

I'm 62 and approved this message.
Yes.
my 65 was not what I thought I was looking for, but it was kind of like falling in love with a girl that didn't meet your height, weight, and hair color dream of the perfect girl. being affordable is part of most people's joy and peace vision. A top-expensive car will drain your energies, as well as your joy and your wallet. lastly, your car only need satisfy you (maybe your spouse if that's how you roll), not someone else's idea of what you should drive. |
The suspense is killing me. What's the car?
|
For my whole life, my dream car was a Corvette but it was always out of my reach, financially. I finally got it at the age of 66. I'm 71 now. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. It was a good feeling to be able to get a good quality car without impacting retirement money.

What are you waiting for? We save all of our lives for retirement when it comes you better grab the brass ring you have been reaching for all of your adult life.
|
Live your life now while you have it. Just do it.
|
Go for it. The perks of life have less savor & fulfillment the older you get.

in your 60s and still waiting? Life passes by too quick go get it.
Always wanted a Pantera :yesnod: |

Dream car
Growing up, I always loved the '67 Corvette in Elkhart Blue with Teal interior. Looked for 23 years to find one that I could afford - knew it would have to be a project though because of available $$. Found it six years ago and just finished it - driving it now is still quite surreal. So glad I did it, you can't take the $$ with you and you'll never get the time back - life is meant to be lived.

Description is too general to comment yet... could be a 100k car or a 500k car and it could be an OK buy or a terrible buy.
:lurk: Withholding comment pending disclosure. :D PS: my wife would say, "if not now, when?" |
I saved all my "lunch money" for 25 years with the intention of restro moding my 62
Well this forum has helped me with the selection of a chassis and GM helped with LS 3 and the rest of you for helping with decisions. Now it is energy, and then it will be reaction time. time is passing by !! |

What are you waiting for, 70, 80, 90? Buy it while you still have time to enjoy it. I turned 63 this year and still working. I can afford a lot of things but I was always reluctant to spend the money but just in the past few years my thinking has changed. I've seen more of my classmates from high school get sick and pass away. I'm not waiting any longer. My wife and I bought a second home, a boat, a jet ski, and now I'm looking at buying an 54 Chevy PU because that's the year I was born. I've had my Vette for 10 years now. My kids are all doing well financially so there's no reason to leave my money behind. I've worked hard all my life and now it's me time!
Oh, and I forgot to add, I love to spend other peoples money! |
