I'm on the "need to go on a diet" size, so I am starting to think the Drivers side seat bottom is getting a bit "soft." Is there any DYI that someone has done to "firm" up the seat bottom without having to tear the entire seat from the car?

Not really -- most likely your foam has been bread sliced by the wire rack that's supposed to support it. Some have glued the sliced foam back together, then supported the seat foam from the wires with jute. Unfortunately, that does require removal and disassembly. Personaly, if the seat is otherwise in good condition I would get a new seat base foam, add just to the wire support area, and drive happy.
Actually, my seat wasn't in otherwise good condition, so I changed all the foam and leather, with 1/2" just in the wire recess. Sits so very nice now. |
Moved over to C5 Tech.

I will let the next owner fix my rocking seat. It doesn't bother me.

It's not hard at all,
I did both driver and pass seats.. New foam, New covers, And fixed the rocking problem In a day... Just be sure to mark the worm gears with tape.. It's really not that bad to do... Just wanted to ad my 2 cents... Good luck whatever you decide.. Ant.... |
Did them last summer along with foam and new leather. Get all your parts, left track and right tracks on both seats, do one track at a time. Plenty of videos on how to do it, I wasn’t in hurry, i had other transportation, i did it over two or three days.
