Anyone going to see total eclipse?

Hey guys. I'm in Monterey right now for the Pebble Beach car shows. I'm going to drive tomorrow evening in a N NE direction to see the total eclipse then continue driving home to NY. I'm looking to go, depending on time and traffic, anywhere between Jackson Hole and Matheur National Forrest. Where are you guys going? Maybe I can meet up.

Best,
Gene

A few shots from Pebble...

I'm going to sit in my backyard where I'll see about 97% of the sun blocked by the moon. I'd though about driving down to Oregon, but it looks like it's gonna be nuts with all the traffic and everything.

I'd suggest trying to make it. There's a radical difference between 97% and 100% for example being able to see it with your bare eyes. Enjoy whatever you decide to do!

Best,
Gene

I suspected all the doom & gloom projections by the corrupt MSM would be BS and it looks like I'm right yet again! Hype, hype and more hype....

No worries, the umbra is passing right over my house so I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy the spectacle (this will be my 3rd total eclipse I've experienced!)

Oh and for those who won't be seeing a full eclipse, this is for you

You'd find a way to inject politics into somebody telling you to have a nice day. Don't you ever tire of seeing everything through politics? Don't you ever give it a rest?

Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't, either way he's still right.

I must say, after having experienced (now) 3 of these in my lifetime, it was YUUUUGGEE!! And to celebrate, I had a Corona during the corona!!!

When I was kid, living in CT during the late 60's and in the early 90's when I lived on Maui

Carol-Jean and went to see the eclipse. We left on Saturday and returned Tuesday. We saw it from a spot at an alpaca farm north of Redmond, Or. Just as totality hit we saw a great diamond ring effect. During totality we watched the corona, and then got another diamond ring when totality was ending.

Corona during totality.

My Wife, 2 oldest Sons and a Friend rented a Mini-Van and drove to Northern Oregon and hiked a long trail to a mountain ridge the night before. Awesome photo's of the milky way and the Eclipse the next day.....

Going to the one in 2024 that stretches from Texas to Ohio, I take it? If you do leave tomorrow or Saturday, you might just make it in plenty of time. :D

What? There's going to be another one? :woohoo:

Joe, since you're a charter member of the Procrastinators Chapter are you planning to be at the XXX (my daughter thinks it's the "Three kisses") on Sunday? Or Monday...whenever it is?

I think it's on Sunday and I do plan to be there sometime before it's all over. Or at 7:30 a.m., whichever comes first...
