Koni Sport 3013 1023/1024 with VB&P Extreme Springs F/R

AutoX 2001 C5 Coupe 6-speed Z51

Current setup 2017:
Drive to AutoX
4x Speedline 18x10.5 wheels with BFGoodrich Rival S 315/30R18 32 psi front/28 psi rear with stock alignment
Strano 1-5/16” 2-way adjustable/tubular front sway bar softest setting
Strano 1” 3-way adjustable/tubular rear sway bar softest setting
Whiteline adjustable endlinks zero load
Banski Motorsports Delrin shock bushings
Koni Sport 3013 1023 front 6 sweeps
Strano spherical bearing conversion for Koni 3013-1023 Sport
Koni Sport 3013 1024 rear 2 sweeps

Future setup 2018:
Trailer to AutoX
Ultra Shield Road Race Seat with 6 point harness
Borg Motorsport Delrin AF offset control arm bushings
Moog ball joints
SKF HD Racing Bearing & Hub with ARP studs
Set trim height and corner balance
Alignment: front -4+ camber, toe out and 6+ caster
rear -3+ camber, toe in
VB&P Extreme Front Spring K=1350
VB&P Extreme Rear Spring K=850

Future future setup 2018+:
LG Motorsports drop spindles
Front 18x11 wheel with Hoosier A7 P315/30ZR18
Rear 18x12 wheel with Hoosier A7 P335/30ZR18

My understanding is that Koni’s are made for the stock Corvette spring rates.

Will the Koni 3013 work with VB&P Extreme Springs K=1350 front/K=850 rear?

Yes they will work. They have plenty of rebound adjustment. The shock body is to long, but that's another story.

What class are you trying to compete in?
Why do you think you need that much spring rate and excessive - camber?

Get the delrin bushings, wheels and tires first. If you are against going coil overs get a T1 front spring and a stock Z06 rear spring. The konis will work great with them.

Koni are great shocks. Since you have gone to the Vette Brakes & Products extreme spring rates, you may need to have the shocks revalved to compliment the stiffer spring rates. I would contact Sam Strano for advice.

A clue would be if you are adjusting the shocks, either direction, and the handling gets better and you run out of adjustment.

Another source for revalving Konis use to be Pro Parts and/or Guy Ankeny.

I compete in CAMS. Moving to SSP or SSM with Hoosier A7’s and drop spindles will be fine with me. I AutoX just for fun.

To help with hard braking nose dive. When I was researching GM T1, Hyperco and VB&P springs I found a less than year old pair of VB&P Extreme for the right price and thought I’ll try them out. I’m for all the negative camber you can get and then set the rear camber at 1.0 - 1.3 less than the front.

I’m not against going coil overs, I've not done any research and still like the option of putting on 285 tires and running STU.

I don’t want to revalve my Koni’s. I’d rather get DA like MCS 2-way.

I've seen a couple of the vb&p front springs delaminate and cause the car to start to sag. Just pay close attention to them. I'm not sure what their warranty is on buying second hand. That's the primary reason I went with the hyperco leafs. Track front/ street rear. Haven't had a problem with them for two years now. The other Corvette has gone through 3 front springs and is now on coilovers.

Go find Lane Borg's STU build post and read that. He has a lot of good information about spring rates, his delrin bushing kit and what works well.

Here a link to the STU thread mentioned above.

Mine did. Had to overnight another one from Fl. to event in Bowling Green - $500 spring, $250 overnight. Got home to the shop and found out some of the new ones are delaminating, also. I am going to go strictly coil overs when this one craps out as some friends have done.

How is your ride height with the track front? Were you able to get it to stock or slightly less than stock ride height?

https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...6c3770f702.jpgLooks like it. I couldn't get it as low as I could on stock springs but it's definitely lower than stock.
