Here's an issue I never had before
My latest addition, a 1984 Crossfire, has presented a new problem I never ran into. I've been having intermittent starting issues. After checking my grounds, cables, starter cables etc, the issue still popped up. Today, I jumped in shut the door, no start, not evening a clicking. Opened the drivers door and it started. Closed it, no start. I used a rod and pushed in the switch mounted on the front of the body (not the door mounted switch). With the switch depressed, car won't start. With it out, starts right up. Is this tied into some system I don't know about? The car DOES NOT have any aftermarket security. The radio is aftermarket but it has been in for awhile. Car is automatic trans.

Never has this but if I had to guess, you've got something crossed or spliced where it shouldn't. If I had to guess, I'd start with the radio area if that's the only thing changed in the dash.

In process of checking radio wiring. As another test, it starts with the drivers door closed if the passenger door is open or I turn on the courtesy lights with the headlight switch. BTW the car doesn't have power locks.

Well, somehow it's fixed. I pulled the radio and the info center. Checked all the wiring on radio. Now it starts every time, doors open or closed, doesn't matter. One of the 2 connectors to the info center was "loose".

Good for you. Dumb luck is WAY better than bad luck,
