I'd need a full side profile to form a proper opinion. :D
Doesn't look bad though. |
Love it - do all 4 wheels NOW! Hate it - your rim made me sick! On the Fence - I cant decide on Love or Hate Chrome wheels must die horrible death JK, it could look good. But as stated, need a shot of the whole car to determine. Shakey |
Hmmm... Is that one of those plastic inserts?? Local guy has them in a different color on a different color car and I like them.
Red/red... Meh. |

Red/red... Meh. There is a certain member here who has them on a yellow vert with chrome wheels. All I can say is :ack: Shakey |

Do not like chrome, and dual colored or striped wheels are almost as bad. You asked. :leaving:

Are you doing this for you or are you doing this for others ?
If you like it, then that's what counts the most (It's your car after all). |
Prefer the stripes on painted wheels, but if you like it is the important thing!

Im doing it for Shows...so Im trying to see what you all think cause a Judge may share your same thoughts...
I wouldn't do anything to my car to win a show that I wouldn't be happy driving around (translated = not embarrassed) every day. What I like comes first, the judge is a distant second...... Shakey |
Silly question, but wouldn't this stripe get peeled off the next time you replace your tires?
|
It looks OK to me and I like chrome wheels, but I think the chrome wheels speak for themselves without the need for a stripe on them.

I used the tape to see the "look" of the stripe - if I decide I love it, Ill have it painted. $6 roll of tape is much cheaper than a pro paint job - only to find out Im on the fence (Like I am now)...:D |

If you like what you have done and the way it looks than go with it. I never come on here and ask others what they think about what i am doing to my car. Its your car, Your opinion is the only one that counts.

I don't think it looks bad, but I still voted no because I don't think it pops off the wheel as much as it would on a painted rim. The chrome sort of overpowers it unless up close. If you decide to keep it do yourself a HUGE favor and do NOT paint it on. How often do you change tires and what is $6 for a new roll and your time to reinstall. Better than having it permanent and growing tired of it later. And if you ever sell, that could be a major deal breaker for the next person.
I'm the guy Jeff T. commented as having the plastic trim. Called RimProTec. Peel and stick, a bit more money than vinyl, but also serves as protection against wheel rash and you can change the color insert whenever you want/need to. Plus they are thinner than your choice in vinyl so it is much more subtle. I'm using a blue against a gunmetal rim. It will rip off during a tire change, but it's the price I pay for deciding on them. |
