Fuel Vapour Canister Help

I am in the process of repairing the back of the left inner fender (71, 350 Automatic). I removed the Headlight vacum tank, there was nothing else there except the horn relay up top, no splash shield at the bottom of the fender. After a bit of research (1st C3 I have worked on) I know I am missing the Fuel vapour canister, the mount etc. The steel line from the tank has been cut by the drivers seat area. I have gone over the Assembly manual and can see the canister but little detail on the exact mounting set up. So for those that are much more familiar with these cars than I there are a few questions...

I have a bracket going from the #1 body mount to the fender. I cannot find this in any of the manuals. Is this factory?

How many bolts mount the canister to the inner fender?

Does the splash shield have a round hole on it to expose the bottom of the canister?

I have included a picture of the holes, curious if this is similar to other 71's

And finally, would anyone have a picture of their set-up, because I am having a difficult time seeing how the bracket, the canister and the vacum tank all fit.

I appreciate any assistance you could offer?...Steve

Hi Steve,
Here are some photos of the canister and it's mounting bracket.
Note 1 hole on the upper bracket and 2 on the lower.

Alan

Here's the mount bolts from the wheel well side. The 2 smaller bolts are of one of the vacuum storage tank's brackets.

Here's the canister installed. (71)

Thanks Alan...exactly what I was looking for.

Now..I would assume you have no bracket coming off your body mount that goes to the back of the inner fender (in my picture)

And does your splash shield have a hole in it directly under the fuel canister?

Hi Steve,
I don't think there was typically a strap as shown in your photo…. previous owner's addition?

And no holes in the splash shields… either side.

Alan
