Order Guide published 11/20/17

Order WorkBbench opens 11/23/17

First Dealer Order Submission Process 11/30/17 (Nov cycle 2)

Start Of Retail Production 1/29/18

What does this mean? The 18's are getting screwed and will only be officially on the books for just a couple of months in 2017?

About 6 months. 2018 production started on June 5th till July 27th. Will resume again next month in November and built till orders are all filled and built by late January.

Sooooooo your saying that there really weren't ever ANY 2018s produced? They have been making the '19 MY since January of this year???

Wow, 2018 will be a low production year for C7

Compressing the C7 MYs '18 & '19, will all make sense when the C8, and anything else that GM plans to start building soon is announced and released up there in Bowling Green.

Introducing production of the 2019 model a full year before calendar 2019 ...this is stupid. I understand them coming out in September, three months in advance of the calendar year as part of the marketing hype, but 12 months ... really??? If they are going to come out with the C8 and want call it the 2019 model, then don't produce any 2019 C7's, just keep calling the C7's a 2018 model through the end of production. They can't even sell what they've produced now and this will leave everything they have on the lots and any 2018's they make virtually unsalable except at a very steep discount.

It would seem "stupid," but I think what it really means is the C8 is ready to go and GM wants to get it to the marketplace ASAP.

Bring on the C8, keep er moovin!

SO.... I'll be in good position for trade-in value on my c7 when the c8 hits ? Noice!

Except, hopefully, better paint with the new process? Or will the late '18s also use the new process?

Not really, with the production of C8 expected in 2019 -2020 many potential buyers of the 2019 will wait for the C8 making 2019 the lowest production year?

When the plant opens up again, they will be painting white, black, Torch Red and yellow in the new paint shop. Starting on Dec 11, Sebring Orange will be available and also be painted in the new paint shop. Not sure if the others will follow suit before 2018 production winds down or if they'll wait until 2019 production to put those other colors through there.

what I was told...

ZRI finalization was delayed a little bit; this being the major reason for change.

To include it in the 2018 year production meant that Bowling Green would only make 2018 ZR1's for 2-3 months. GM figured 2018 ZR1 sales would be low because most would just wait a few months until the 2019 model year.

It was initially thought to sell the ZR1 as a 2019, but still keep 2018 production alive. But this was deemed too awkward, so the entire line starting with the ZR1 would also be 2019 model year.

It is a lot earlier, but really just by 6 months.

on a typical year.... the next years models would start to be built in July of the current year, and delivery starting mid/late August. I took delivery of my 2002 in late August 2001.
