When to Flip NT01's

Wore out my first set of front NT01's earlier this year. Got 10 days out of them. Rears are still hanging in there.

I'm thinking this might be around the right time to flip the rears on the rims.

Do they behave differently or give up much grip after the flip?

Thanks

Nope, just flip when you see the wear getting uneven and DO NOT RUN IN THE WET/RAIN.

BTW - If rears are lasting longer than fronts, recommend getting on the gas sooner and using less brake.

No doubt, I need to get on it sooner AND harder!

I'm also still running staggered with 275 & 305. Turn 5 at Summit is killing the fronts, it really pushes bad.

Can you flip NT-01 front tires? My front left tread wear is more than the right. When you say "flip", that would mean moving the tires from left to right and right to left, the tires would then be rotating in the opposite direction.

You can rotate/flip/ somersault:D the tires anyway you want to equalize wear:thumbs:

You have 10 days? Do they really wear that well? Any videos of your driving?

I have 2 track days on my new R888R's and they are down to the wear bars. I had to flip them last track day. Another track day or two and there won't be any tread left at all...

No recent videos but I may put a camera in for the next event. They were well used up with cords showing. They also probably only had 750 - 1000 street miles. I'm running around -2.1 camber.

I did 12 days with mine. They were rotated right to left and /or front to rear every couple of days to even out the wear. They were flipped on the wheels around the eighth or ninth day.

I still had rubber left, but the grip was gone. I didn't want to drive 6/10ths the rest of the season, so I replaced them with a new set.

My car car is a stock 300 HP C4 with Z07 package, driven in advanced HPDE. No street miles on the tires.

how many sessions? What’s your driving ability? What tracks? Tire size?

I have 11 days on my NT-01's. I've rotated the tires after every event and flipped the tires once on the wheels. I have -2.4 degrees up front and -1.5 in the back. Little to no street miles on these. I'm solo intermediate with most organizations. My car is a C5 with 315/18 square. My best at SP is a 1:26 and 2:17 at WGI. I noticed at Pocono last month that grip felt like it was fading some, I've had these for a year now. Three of the four still show some tread, but not much. One tire the tread is mostly gone but there is still rubber there. Hope this helps, I am a fan of the NT-01s and will buy another set when this year is in the books.

I race on NT01s and I've posted many times that they are the best tire to run unless you are needing another second or two for a podium spot that pays out. I enjoy running on them more than hoosiers, pirellis or yoko slicks. All my videos (I think) I put tire/size in the description. My car is a 99 with a stock ls6 with penskes 2 way coilovers, pfadt monoballs.

I rotate them on the car at the end of every day unless I'm running the same track backwards. I've never bothered to flip them on the rims.

About 12 sessions (they were open track days, but this was 2 events)
Raceway Park of the Midlands (totally flat, easy track, low speed)
Toyo R888R 295x4

Driving ability is a tough one, since it's subjective.. Here's how I'm driving it right now during HPDE's. Car is 100% stock except brakes/tires.

That was one of the most entertaining race video's I've seen in a long time the action at the start was epic! Thanks for posting:thumbs:

Damn, the video says you're on 395's ... and on all four corners! Those must be custom

Obviously a typo.

Funny thing is, I didn't even notice until I posted it here! I'm far too lazy to fix it though. They're just my own personal videos I slap on my channel occassionally, which not many people see anyway.
