So I was asking a lot of questions but things came out pretty well! I ended up getting the 55 impala front end, and it worked out really well, other than one decision I made to try and save some money. It didn’t work out so great, but not terrible.

I have some decent negative camber from it!.. so I’m going to take them back off and get them cut down!.. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...2d8253d36.jpeg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...90e227057.jpeg All fully assembled! it feels great other then the negative camber!.. so I’m going to fix that and should be ready for the road again!! But it dropped the car a few inches and makes it stick to the road through turns!! And I love it! |
A lot to read here!

Thought i ask if you have some sort of measurement or reference point for welding the bump stop and swaybar link bracket.
On your previous ask to keep ya informed how it will go, I think it will be amazing, like I said I was trying to save a bit of money not cutting the cross shafts but I think after I do that, I will have more flexibility with good camber, and should all fit together nicely! I’m looking forward to finishing that small piece and then getting it aligned. but the few drives I’ve taken so far it has felt amazing! And A Arms should work well for you! please let me know if you have any more questions. |
I just ordered a full set. Maybe I'll start a new thread when I install them as this one has gone over 500 posts! Great info!

I know a member much earlier in the thread — sunflower — reported -1 and -1.5 degrees of negative camber which is really within an acceptable threshold. considering you’re running a similar set up to what I will be with the semi-Coilovers (I have Qa1’s on the way). I am interested to see if your negative camber was any more significant than his with these arms. If it was floating around the same number. I would be fine with just doing the simple mods on the lower arms and bolting them on and driving. also, any update on how these performed while driving?? Many people have said they feel good. My cars primarily street but will see some road racing and autocross. Thanks! |

I got mine!

I just finished my rear suspension and moving to the front now. I'll report how it goes with tubular upper arms as I go along.
|
This video shows part of the build where they install tubular arms. There are more videos on this channel that cover the build of the whole Corvette.

Are those the ones that are actually manufactured to fit a full size Impala?
If so there are several threads from a few years ago where the members modified them to fit a C3 Corvette. |

I’ve been reading and re-reading this thread all day and all I have to say is wow. Awesome everyone pieced this stuff together.

It feels so much more nimble and stable through turn and just driving straight down the road! I would not change a thing with my set up I have!…. Other than a borgeson steering unit! That will be going in later! the exciting thing about this set up with independent suspension all the way around you can change things up as much as you and make it much more custom to your driving! If you a bigger road racer then you can stiffer shocks or lower and raise your car as much as you want. I have lowered my a little just for looks. I love this set up. |

sorry it’s been a while since getting back to this thread, but yes I had way to much negative camber. I ended up having to take apart the front suspension and get the upper cross members milled out, like what was shown in earlier posts.

I thought hard about doing this myself but in the end I chickened out and just bought the POL upper and lower arms for the c3 since they were about half the cost of the other alternatives.

It's been awhile since I last checked front wheel camber, so I checked today. Appears I'll need to make a small adjustment on the left side.
