Nice!

See06 11-03-2017 06:53 PM

They said it should be released Jan ‘18 but did not mention pricing

cyi1 11-03-2017 08:38 PM

WHAT ELSE IS COMING?!?!!?!?!?
Looks like there's a bunch of stuff next to it also....

Intake looks awesome though. Wish it came in carbon fiber.

I would think, if it’s coming from GM, the install should be MUCH easier than some of those that I’ve watch on the boobtube

I'll be in for one if it has proven improvement.

An ECM calibration was released a couple months ago to address that issue on the 17's. Hope it is good to go.

:lurk: Doesn’t state if it is Z06 or Stingray/GS application. Ducting does differ between the two. Do we just assume?

nice, any other performance parts by GM ?

mikegaan 11-04-2017 12:34 PM

To belabor the obvious, why isn't it standard on new cars?...or maybe it will be on the '19s?

Top right shows the carbon fiber braces and bottom right appears to be the brake ducts. I wish someone took a photo of the entire wall though... :banghead:

If it is an "oiled cotton gauze" type filter, it may be because it doesn't meet GM's particle removal filtration specs, including "loading up" faster than an AC paper filter.

But it doesn't affect the warranty?

I have been looking at the pic. The filter appears light gray or white in color which may mean its a dry filter. Just a guess on my part.

AFEs CAI has two filters that can be used, one is light gray or white which is a 'dry' filter. Would be nice to see the size and shape of the GM filter.

With the relatively small number of people who will install these, it probably will have an insignificant impact on GM's warranty outlay costs.

If it was original equipment, on the other hand, it very well might.

Filters with larger holes can flow better. This has its pluses and minuses.
