O'Rileys 10% off for veterans

This may be old news to some but just found out O'Rileys gives you a 10% off on purchases if you have been in the military. You do have to tell them the last 3 digits of your military. Took me a few minutes but after all these years, I still remember it. Also Lowes but you have to to on line to sign up.

Don’t exactly know when they started giving the 10% military discount but I have been getting it for years now. Advance Auto also has the same military discount.

This is posted on the O'Reilly website:

Military Discount
The Online Store is unable to offer a Military Discount due to ID verification issues. However, all O'Reilly Auto Parts stores provide a 10% discount off retail price for most items, some exceptions are motor oil, antifreeze, sale items and special orders. The discount is extended to active military and their immediate family, retired military and VA recipients. Valid ID is required.

This is posted on the Advance Auto website:

Advance Auto Parts is proud to offer 10% off regularly priced items for in-store purchases to customers who serve or have served our country’s Armed Services.

Qualifying customers may be required to show proof of military status for in store purchases as explained below:
Military Qualifications Required Credentials

All active-duty, reserve and retired status members of our Armed Services

US Army, US Navy, US Air Force, US Marine Corps, US Coast Guard, US National Guard
Note: ONLY retired veterans with 20 years
or more of service are eligible.

U.S. Uniformed Services ID card

Common Access Card (CAC)

All veterans receiving VA benefits Veteran Identification Card (VIC)

Immediate family members of the above mentioned service members
(i.e. spouses and dependent children up to 18 years of age)
U.S. Uniformed Services ID card

I did not find any specific military discounts from Auto Zone, Carquest, Napa, or Rock Auto, but an individual store may offer one (does not hurt to ask).

NAPA does offer a 10% discount for AAA members.

I have a copy of my honorable discharge papers if they should need, but they never asked. Just the last part of my military ID number. And I'm not retired from there, just put in my time and got out.

I just use my VA card......8 years Navy.

I am signed up at Lowes as well.

You have to ask to get it and I always forget to ask!

Southern States Co-op also gives a 10% discount to Vets.
I use Advance Auto for a lot of parts, i will normally order on line and pick up a the store in 15 minutes. They normally have a discount code that saves 20%, which beats your military discount.

Same here in Oregon plus Napa. I took my DD214 over to Staples and they reduced it down to credit card size. I use that or my VA ID.

After reading this thread today, I went back to Advance Auto. I was there 3 days ago, and bought a battery. I didn't know about the Veteran's 10 percent discount. So, I asked them today to void out the sale from a few days ago, and reenter it w/the discount. The sales clerk, instead, just did a calculation, and gave me $13 plus change in cash.

It pays to read the Corvette Forum !!
