C7 ZR1 or Tesla Coupe

Apparently the Tesla Coupe is stealing some of the ZR1's thunder. It's just a little quicker and faster.:willy:

"Tesla didn't just have its highly anticipated semi-truck to reveal on Thursday. The electric car maker surprised everyone when one of the semis unloaded an all-new Tesla Roadster from its trailer. Tesla claims the sleek, targa-top two-door can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds, go 0-100 mph in 4.2 second, and complete the quarter mile in 8.9 seconds, numbers that would make it the quickest production car in the world."

Lets see it on the track for 30 min.I also like the rumble or sounds of my cars not silence.

Walter Raulerson 11-17-2017 03:03 PM

Yep 250 top end. I like that stealth WHIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

dmaxx3500 11-17-2017 03:04 PM

well lets see

1.zr1=a real car

What happens when the batteries don't hold a full charge anymore, call the Energizer Bunny?

tcinla 11-17-2017 03:21 PM

.. Or Porsche Mission E ?

As far as Tesla vs C7 ZR1 goes, it depends on when you want to be driving it : 2018 or sometime around when the C9 hits ...

lol

https://www.theguardian.com/technolo...elon-musk-fast

"The standard retail price of the so-called base model will start at $200,000 (£151,530) making it the most expensive Tesla to date above the £144,440 top of the line Model X."

You want to compare the Zr1 to vaporware that costs $200k ?

"Musk said the Roadster will go on sale in 2020, although that figure is speculative given the problems and delays Tesla has faced getting its other cars to market."

Understatement of the year...

Walter Raulerson 11-17-2017 03:46 PM

Right probably neither one

620 miles on ONE CHARGE probably doesn't need the bunny. By time it's built 250

acroy 11-17-2017 03:59 PM

The race is on: Tesla Coupe vs Tesla Bankruptcy. Who will win??

vader86 11-17-2017 04:03 PM

Tesla might figure out how to be the king of acceleration, but I don't have confidence in them delivering on time, and don't believe they'll turn out a real sports car faster than the Porsche Mission E or something from McLaren.

Tesla might very well be the future but they better figure out how to become profitable.

A lot of people talk about tracking when a very small fraction of owners actually track their cars. 0-60 is still the general standard in real world application. At least owners can actually experience that measurable as oppose to how the car will perform at Laguna Seca.

It’s the same with SUVs and trucks, and how well they will perform off-road. How many Raptors actually leave the pavement (rhetorical).

Nonetheless, I would much rather have a slower V8 ZR1 than a battery powered anything...

tcinla 11-17-2017 04:52 PM

Wouldn't it be crazy if Elon's announcements were timed to keep the stock ticking along ? Crazy, huh ?

I'm waiting for His announcement that he's changing his name to Tony Stark.

red62vette 11-17-2017 04:55 PM

Yes, I think Tesla is a short, and i'm not alone (it has the highest short interest). But I've been wrong so far. That said, I like this car...

IF and it’s a big if the Tesla comes to market it would be amazing. They are claiming 7,375 lbs ft of torque available in a nano second. Plus, it’s not a bad looking car. It even has a Targa roof. LOL

:iagree:
Anyway, talk's cheap...let's see if he can actually produce a car that delivers those numbers.

Zr1 next year and a deposit of 50 grand will give you the option of the tesla supercar in 2021.

Do both since cash doesn't seem to be an issue.

The mclaren 570 would seem to be the actual target of the tesla supercar.

I'm Sure the you tube highway pulls between the two will be epic.

Somehow I imagine slightly hot rodded ZR1 will be even quicker at least on a road course.

ZR1 all day long.

I don't give a care about electric cars. They're ugly, cost more and sound like shit. I'll pass.

johnglenntwo 11-17-2017 07:51 PM

That Tesla should road track well but no word!?

He needs to address that if he really wants to win!

OnPoint 11-17-2017 07:55 PM

After Tesla goes bankrupt, I wonder if there'll be some cool LS or LT motor swap kits available for them.
