Turbo C5 vs 2016

Anyone got into a dog fight with 2016/2017 vette? Not sure but I believe a turbo C5 can make a new one look bad

Factory 2016/2017 ? I think it goes without saying that my turbo C5 would embarrass a factory 2016 or 2017.

I think so. And very good answer.

The new vettes launch good off the line but the turbo would take it easily as long as you don't go up in smoke

My V3 car destroyed my friends C7Z with the lingenfelter 686 package (pakage numbers may be off but he was supposed to be around 600 wheel). We went 50-150ish and from 100 on it was just embarrassing for him.

My turbo c5 would embarrass the new zr1.

Latest model is chick magnet .... where are you going that fast ? Speed kills you know. Besides, my principles do not allow me to race others vette, it say it on the manual, GM policy page 69

JMUSSO 12-06-2017 09:17 AM

My manual says, "kill or be killed"...lol.

I don't see a problem you beating him as long as your stuff runs right.

Anything with a turbo is fast, (look at the honda ricer), now imagine a corvette with turbo ?

See this corvette with a turbo what are capable of

Saabs too? Chevy Cruze Turbo? Mack truck? Lol:rofl:

Quickshift_C5 12-07-2017 05:07 PM

My supercharged C5 put many bus lengths on a stock C7Z at this years half mile, and a car or two on a heavily modified one last year. Once aftermarket parts are in the equation, all bets are off.

not that my car is making that kinda power, but the vids of the silver "street monster" C5Z are one of the things that convinced me to keep my C5Z & go FI,the platform still has so much outrageous potential to build into whatever capability you want its ridiculous. How many cars out there off the factory floor have chassis that can shrug off 800whp w/o a sweat, trannies (manual anyhow) that also put up w/ a ton of abuse & engine can handle 650-750whp before getting into bottom end, all while being a 2 door 2 seater w/ all models weighing under 3500 miles & the Z06 like 3100 while ALSO having the ability to run seriously wide rubber w/o modification? I honestly cannot think of anything else that compares if you wanted to do a ground up build for pure performance.

This is obvious - but the C8 takes that recipe to a whole new level b/c they're now bringing a supercar mid-engine chassis w/ the same robust proven smallblock V8 powerplant to the masses, can you imagine what the mod potential will be on these C8's once the ECU is cracked & builders figure out the strong/weak points? How about what level of performance a Z06 or ZR1 variant may bring? Imagine if the ZR1 winds up being some type of small displacement tt V8 possibly w/ AWD & electric motor power the front wheels? ohhhh boy
