Headers on my 94

1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys, I would like to put a set of Dougs Headers on my 94. They are shorty headers that are EO Approved for emissions. They claim to be "bolt on". I am worried about clearance and plug wires fitting. Anyone have experience or input you can share? I have included a picture of the headers here. Thank you in advance.

Just to let you know there are no performance gains from shorties. Can you not run full length headers.

I've heard people say that there is actually better plug clearance with the shorties and they do look nice, but Zero performance gains over the stock iron manifolds.

He's in Cali, so I think he can only use EO-approved products. Does anyone know of any EO-approved long-tubes?

No such animal.

Ruger, as others have said the expense and hassle of installing shorty headers doesn't make sense if a power increase is your goal. Sounds like you don't have options for long-tubes at this time. Does California have a 25-year-old classic car exemption from emissions testing? If so, you're only a year away. Maybe wait until then?

Thank you guys for the information and feedback. As always I appreciate it. I believe we are at 1978 for smog not being needed here in California. So I am a ways away from that. That being said I have called and talked to Lloyd Elliot and am thinking about his cam/heads package. He says that with a tune I will be good for smog.

The good news is that you can tune this car with Tunercat, which is cheap and comprehensively capable.
