93 Polo Coupe 6 Speed

SOLD Funny how things work out. A little over a year ago, I bought this car from a fellow CF member as a part of what I considered to be a brilliant, benevolent plan. I planned to help my daughter and son-in-law buy their first house. I planned to sell my C5 Commemorative Edition to do that, and would need a daily driver. I loved my previous Polo C4, and when this one became available, well I was pretty darn happy to be able to stay in a Vette and help the kids at the same time.
Life has its own plans, and as it turned out, the kids decided to take care of elderly parents while living with them. They have now saved a ton of their own money and no longer need my help. I now have two world class cars in my garage, while the wifes car sits outside. Every time it rains, she gives me "the eye". Did I mention that I live in North Florida? It rains here. A lot. Frog choking kinda rain. So the Polo is odd man out. I've put it off long enough. Building a bigger garage is off the table, don't think I didn't consider it. With the exception of the recently replaced headlights, battery, and wheel bearings, all work listed below was done within the past 4 years. 93 Polo Coupe. New Paint. 383 Stroker built by Golen Engineering. AFR heads. Meziere Electric Water Pump. Rebuilt 411 Differential. New Clutch. New Hurst Shifter. New Nittos, 255 45 17 Fronts, 315 35 17 Rears on ZR1 Replicas. New Interior. New Rear Wheel Bearings. New Silverstar Headlights. New Battery. Price - $10700.00. Drive train has approximately 17k on it. Odometer reads 108,977. Note: This car began its life 25 years ago as an Automatic. A prospective buyer noticed it going through the RPO codes, and the previous owner confirmed the conversion was done. Its a testament to the quality of the work that despite driving it down the Eastern seaboard, I had no idea. Pictures to follow. |

Odometer has 109,000 miles. The engine, clutch, transmission and differential have less than 17k on them. When I purchased it 14 months ago, it had 15k. I drove it from Cincinnati to Jacksonville Florida with zero issues, and have had a "little fun" with it here around town. The nubs are still on the tires. :flag::cheers::flag: |

Collins87,
I hope to have time to change the oil this weekend. If so, Ill grab some underneath shots for you. |
Monday Bump. Hoping someone wants to turn their tax return into a fun machine. As all the Vette owners here will attest, its impossible to drive these cars anywhere without getting into conversations with folks about memories or aspirations....
|
Pre-tax day bump, back into visibility.
|
Pm sent..Thanks
|
Very nice car.

Did you replace the battery cover with that of a '96? Those side covers are not stock for a '93 right? Plus, I know you said its a 383 stroker but that intake manifold looks like its a LT4, which was only in '96. I'm trying to learn as much about these as I recently became a C4 owner.
EDIT: Its a beautiful car BTW! |
