C7Z Wrap Complete
I completed my C7 Wrap job a few weeks ago and just want to share. It was my first attempt at wrapping, and while I decided I won't be changing my day job, I'm extremely pleased with the results. My goal was a C7.R type of look. This will primarily be a track car so I wasn't concerned with being too flashy. FYI: The wheels are Forgeline GS1R's in transparent red. I couldn't be more happy with those. Also just installed the Borla ATAK exhaust. Next is a RPMRollbar 4-point bar, harnesses, lowering, and whatever the budget allows.
And then I just need to wait until April when the roads are clear and I may be able to finally drive it. :) https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...bc263981a9.jpg |
Well...its certainly distinctive! Kudos to what looks like a nice job on the wrap! I've done a small amount of wrapping from interior pieces to a handful of exterior pieces (on other cars, not the Vette)...can't imagine tackling a whole car on my own.
Have you thought of adding a front splitter? That would complete the look, IMO. |

Interesting color combinations. Great background.

Looks great, where did you get the decals or wrap material if thats permitted. If not perhaps a pm would help?

I got the wrap from Metro Restyling. I used 3M 1080 wrap. Each roll is about 5' wide. I think I ended up using about 35' of the yellow, 2' of red, 6' of black and 2' of silver. Total costs of all the vinyl was around $450 or so if I remember correctly. Unfortunately, shipping to alaska added about $200 to the cost. UGH! I would also recommend youtube and Wrap Institute if you're new to wrapping and want to try it. Without those videos, I would have never even attempted this project. And have patience.... lots of patience. And no small children should be nearby due to the excessive cursing that can occur when you overstretch a piece or cut it too short. :) |
Outstanding job, Tom! That could be your new Avatar too.
Keep going too-get the big wing for it. |
You mentioned lowering but I'm wondering if drop spindles would be better?
|
Looks sharp, nicely done. Don’t think I would have the patience to even attempt that, hats off to you.
|
Looks like you did one heck of a job. Your car should really stand out in a crowd.

 Nice job looks good.

Very cool to see this. I had a much simpler inspiration of just having the bottom part. Even put out a thread with some photoshop images of what it might look like.
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...r-hate-it.html Still wanting to do the wrap myself. How hard was it to just do the bottom part? Any areas that were particularly tough? |
They have a track in Alaska? Cool, or cold lol. Nice job on the wrap.
|
Beautiful result! LIKE.

However, there are a fair amount of autocrosses and one particular event called Tanacross. This happens on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends in the village of Tanacross at an old Russian air base that's now controlled by the BLM. We have door-to-door racing, time trials and 1/2 mile drags. I do the latter 2. Here's a video from Fall 2017. |
