found this today at the auction. Very rare!!! 6 spd bid got too 17k. Didnt sell.

If that same "first C5 with a window sticker" had hit the general forum, various comments and threads during its time here:

-not worth more than 11k but only because its rare.
-wagon wheels blah blah blah
-what's the carfax say?
-shoulda been driven more otherwise the seals are rotted
-needs some black wheels on it
-should I add hash marks to it?
-what color Jake sticker would offset best?
-straight pipes?
-can I cut a hole in the dash to add HUD?
-hate red what color vinyl wrap should I get?
-someone keyed my car in the Walmart parking lot!!!!!
-snow tires?
-oil leak coming from engine can't tell where
-didn't check oil engine locked up, 5.3 swap?

On the window sticker of the car posted it reads "believed to be 45,000 miles." The odometer is broken?

But it's a test mule ?

So what happened, GM test drove this car for 18k miles, and then sold it to the public after regular production of the C5 already began ?

New body panels, transmission, and seats ? They got trashed in only 18k miles ? It was still sold as a used car right ? Why did someone pay 45k for a used car ? Why did someone later pay 75k for it ? Just because it's one of the first C5s on the road ? Sorry I just don't see the value.

17k seems like a fair offer. The owner must be dreaming if he thinks it's worth a lot more than that.

It did rain that morning as you can see car is very wet. I looked the car over very well.. Overall cosmetically car was in very good shape. Paint was nice no chips. All body panels lined up. Black sport seats looked almost new. Engine compartment needed cleaned up. I just thought it was cool find. I also felt 17k was a fair offer.

The 2003 I posted above. Was the last 2003 produced and was a 50th which I thought was also cool. it sold for 38k I believe.

I live in Melbourne, about an hour away from Kissimmee. Was gone go, but the weather was crappy. Never been to Mecum or Barrett.

Its was 80 and sunny Thursday and Friday . Im back home now -1 and 8 inches of now on theground. I will post more pics.
