Very well done. The year breakdown of the Car and it's changes was a challenge when diecast collecting. It was all in for some. One sticker change, new diecast. NASCAR Made it easy to just keep spending. When it WAS Hot. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...66e111b6ea.jpg Corvette Racing did run a Silver and Black paint on a C5.That was a beauty. I believe YELLOW Started Early in the C5.... The Start of CORVETTE RACING Is illustrated HERE: http://www.corvetteonline.com/featur...rvette-racing/ https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...0a3589f673.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...2e42b0d607.jpg The Passing of Dale Sr. with the GOODWRENCH GM Logo's was Retired.Effected all forms of racing under that Banner..For GM That was quite a HONOR To Do That :sadangel: https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...a61378d7ec.jpg “Endurance racing enables us to test new technologies that transfer from race car to road car,” said Mark Kent, director of racing for Chevrolet, during an interview in 2014. “The lessons we have learned from the Corvette Racing program are immeasurable. Not only does Chevrolet race the products we sell, we do it against our chief showroom competitors.” Great Job.We appreciate the hard work and it shows with the Sales of the C7. Race on Sunday,Sell on Monday.. Typing that reminded me of this: Sunday Money Post up your Diecasts Too...That would be appreciated to some members i'm Sure  |
I am a huge Corvette Racing fan. I watch all of their races and go to as many as I can every year. I really wish there was more discussion/involvement from the forum. I'm not even sure if most readers/users know that Corvette Racing even exists or even care. Oh well.
Some pics from last years race at Watkins. You can literally walk right up to the cars while they are working on them. The team is super polite, inviting and grateful. It is a great experience. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...6a06481350.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...3b9c9bb46a.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...fa6d22d687.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...7f203cf85c.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...6887b074af.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...5ebcc3e5da.jpg |

The Glenn must be close for you.Lime Rock would be for me.That is a short race. Odd too.Even the Corvette Racing website isn't update.. Well the cars have already been on track testing. Both Nite and Day. Of coarce because the race will be 24 hrs.Long. A true test to the Manufactures on Longevity and Durability. Couple vids out their..Just click on the ball to move past what you don't want to see.Looked Cold for the Fans and probably the Tires TOO |
:thumbs:I've been to VIR and Watkins Glen several times and it was a great time. The Corvette Corrals are the way to go. Parking right by the track and plenty of other Corvette fans to hang out with during and after the race. Visiting the garages is also a real benefit at both tracks. The drivers often come up to the Corral and answer questions and give autographs. I hope to go again this year.

I wouldn't miss the 6 Hour weekend at Watkins Glen, its the best deal in racing. The Corvette Corral is a must to add to the experience. Can't wait for this year's race!

Count me in as another big fan of GTLM. I haven't gotten up to speed on 2018 rules, but I agree that many on this forum would be shocked to hear that the C7Rs have only slightly more HP/TQ than a base Stingray, per FIA/IMSA rules.

(yes it's my biggest complaint about IMSA) |
I'll happily subscribe to this thread. I try to go to at least one IMSA race a year (I'm pissed off they aren't in Austin again this year) and I watch every one of the races. The GTLM category has been the best class of racing ANYWHERE for the last 2 or 3 years. I also follow F1 avidly and the IMSA tickets are the best deal anywhere. Paddock passes are cheap and worth every penny (unlike the kidney-selling required for paddock in F1).
Unlike most, I think IMSA does a really good job with the BOP (except for the run-up to Lemans 2016, where Ford screwed everyone). Fabulous racing, great rules and awesome tracks. The competition is intense at every race, but respectful almost routinely (except for those A-hole Porsche teams). |
