How often do you actually take off your targa top? Be Honest

I have my 2018 z06 2lz for a little over a week and not once have I had the urge to take off my targa top but then again I have had multiple cars with sunroofs and never opened them either. I just worry about taking the targa off, possibly raining while Im driving and then putting it back on without scratching it up. Do you guys actually take off that targa top on a regular basis?

Never

Completely weather dependent, but I would say I have mine off regularly when the weather is nice on the weekends. I'd probably estimate 2 or 3 times per month late-spring through early-fall.

Living in NJ - Never

Living in socal - Weekly in the spring and fall

Switch between clear and painted seasonally

So often that I decided to trade it in for the convertible.

I have the transparent top and like how it makes the car inside nice and bright and not give a closed in feeling. Those are the reasons I got the transparent top. I also like how it breaks up the look of the car. I take my top off 3-4 times a month.

lol, I was just going to post this sentiment when I read yours. You either enjoy the "top down corvette experience" or you drive hardly ever taking the top off. It's like ice cream, there's a flavor for everyone.

On my C6 i took it off one time. On my last 3 C7s i have never taken the targa tops off.

I wish it were a fixed roof like the C6 Z06

Mine comes off everytime I use the car. (Unless it is raining) I only put it back on in the garage to keep the car clean.

As often as weather permits. It's so quick and easy not to. As well as the fresh air and sound of the exhaust is amazing.

jcsperson 01-18-2018 10:59 AM

Almost never. When I first got my C5 I did it quite a bit, but after that first summer I probably did it only 2-3 more times. I've had the top off my C7 GS once in the year I've had it.

Being generally (OK... completely) lazy... I never strip and go naked! However, whenever my son ( who has a 15' Vert) drives my Coupe, he takes it all off. Last summer, I even left my sun shade on under my glass top. I will admit however, that when I'm in his Vert, I do enjoy the top down, but of course it's just a click away.

"Almost Never"

If the Grand Sport had a fixed roof would buy it!

VettinFan 01-18-2018 11:12 AM

What, you mean those tops come off??

Silver C7 01-18-2018 11:14 AM

As frequently as the weather allows. Around here, that probably won’t happen until April or May, unless we get a freak day or two in March.

I’m patient, I can wait...

I use mine as often as possible! If it's a nice day, I have no issue with taking it off and storing it in the hatch area. I like the top-off look too.

Right!

Hoonose 01-18-2018 11:25 AM

Not once. A bit too much of low back problems. Plus I don't want to encourage roof noises.

woodsguy 01-18-2018 11:26 AM

My 2nd C7, never been off yet. Not really worried about it and a little lazy too.

LanceVette 01-18-2018 11:34 AM

Once a year, weather I need it or not. :D
