1965 Project Car Convertible w/ Hardtop
SOLD.
I have a 1965 corvette convertible with hard top that I have owned since 1975. It has been disassembled, the parts have been bagged and tagged. Also I have many pictures taken during the tear down process. Note that the front end was modified by original owner. I have purchased from Ecklers Corvette the replica of original front end. The car originally had a big block with a 4 speed transmission but was converted to an automatic. This could easily be converted back to 4 speed manual transmission. The engine in the car now is a 327. I'm located in St. Augustine, FL. Price dropped to $17,500. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...46db89056a.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...a991249d88.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...83ebe147e6.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...c65caf3aa0.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...d244403866.jpg |

Dwight, its all there except the headlight assembly for the new front end may not be 100% complete.
Midvette6067, the frame is clean and ready for stripping and paint in the restoration process. The floorboard area of the body needs some fiberglass work. The birdcage area has rust that would need repair or replacement of the birdcage. |
Interested in selling the custom front end?
|
You would need to purchase that from whoever buys the car. I will be happy to pass your name along to contact when they do that part of restoration.

If this car is still available please give me a call....904-572-5789....I am located right down the road:cheers:

Engine?
|
Engine is a 327
|
Note that it was brought to our attention that this is a big block car. The 327 that I got with the car is not the original engine. The hood, 6500 red line tach and the 80lb oil guage were
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...5e80c9ab33.jpg the determining factor. |
I did look at the car, and believe it is a big block car possibly. The hood is correct hood for a 67, but is original GM hood. I am trying to research so to be correct, but car does have 80 lb oil pressure guage, big block rearend caps, big block front springs, factory rear sway bar....but...it appears that battery box was on the passenger side....As I understand all 396 cars, and ac cars had the battery box on the driver's side(LH).
The lady who owns this car is a awesome woman, and bought the car in 1975. The original engine, and trans is gone, but does have 65 327 block, and 64 461 heads. Trying to figure originality of the car. I can say this.....these are very good folks, and my fianc'ee, and I considered it a honor to meet them. |
Also, encouraged owner to drop instrument cluster to look for coded sticker as she has owned this car since 1975.

Still same price?

lol Bob....:D
The owner sent me a picture of behind the dash cluster, and it is LB.....which can be, to my understanding, a 365/375/or 425 horse cars....OK....still trying to figure out why it has all the HD suspension, and big block rearend. Cars get changed up, but the owner has had this car since the mid 70s. She showed me picture proof of this, and any Corvette person would love her story. Still searching.... And, want to state....I found this car to build for a customer, but unforeseen medical conditions arose, and the dream got put on hold....I went ahead, and went, and saw the car, and met the owners. They are awesome people, but I have no interest in this car. This a interesting car, but a pretty big project. I have the talent to do this car....it would scare a lot of people. This is the start of a frame off, and only dollar signs from there...lol....I am going to try to continue to help the owners, cause I an a Corvette person, and I like them, but I am going to step out of this thread. And, I apologize to the owner, if they feel I am in the way. Cheers all.... |
Thread has been reopened, my error. I read the last few posts and did not realize those posts were not made by the OP.
Good luck with the sake. |
Good luck with the SALE.
Can’t type any better than I read in my old age, apparently. |

Found a picture showing the battery box mounted on the driver's side of the frame. We were asked to verify its location. Sorry I couldn't cut out the butt in the blue pants....LOL.
