For the past six years, a group of dedicated Corvette_Forum Members, Corvette_Club Members and Corvette_Enthusiasts have raised funds and driven from Peoria, IL, to Memphis, TN, as part of the “St. Jude Corvette Drive” to support the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Since its 2012 inception, the St. Jude Corvette Drive has raised over $650,000 for the kids of St Jude. This year the goal is to raise OVER $200,000 for the kids of St. Jude with more than 100 Corvettes Driving to Memphis.

“Drive” Logistics: We leave Uftring Chevrolet, (a St Jude Drive sponsor), in Washington, IL (near Peoria) on Thursday morning, May 17 and drive to Effingham, IL, for lunch with Mike Yager of Mid America Motorworks, who is also a St. Jude Drive sponsor. (Note: Some of the Corvette “Drivers” will depart from Effingham.) After lunch, we depart in groups of about 20 cars and drive to Memphis, where we dine, explore Beale Street and stay in a downtown Memphis hotel. On Friday morning, we visit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for a car show, a check presentation, guided tours and a seminar about all the good work underway at St. Jude to cure childhood cancer. The program is complete by noon on Friday, May 18. Some people stay in Memphis for the weekend while others go on to Nashville or other destinations.

May 17, Start Options: You have 3 options in terms of where you start your St Jude Corvette Drive to Memphis:
• Depart from Uftring Chevy in Washington, IL (near Peoria) at 7 AM
• Depart from Mid America Motorsports in Effingham, IL at 11 AM (join the Peoria group)
• With 10 or more cars, form a satellite group and depart from your location and join us in Memphis by 6 PM

Fundraising & donations help further the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - Finding cures. Saving Children.

• Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
• Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. We won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
• St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Fundraising for St Jude is a serious business. The St Jude Children’s Research Hospital has an operating budget of over $2 million dollars per day. The St Jude Corvette Drive requires each car to raise a minimum of $1,500 ($1000 driver, $500 passenger) to participate in the “Drive”, and personal expenses (gas, food, hotel, etc) are above this minimum. Last year over 50 cars participated and the average funds raised was over $3,000 per car.

Although this sounds like a lot, we have the tools and experience to help you raise the funds. It takes some time and effort, but the kids of St Jude are worth it!
