84 Corvette Project car • new crate engine • rebuilt trans • etc.

Sold! Sold! Sold!

I had a rough 2017 and I'm still struggling a bit, so it's time for my baby to go.

• $2950 – Cash – no checks, PayPal etc.
• 1984 Z51 Corvette – V8 engine – Automatic transmission
• 144,000 Miles
• Red exterior / Red interior
• Family owned since new

• Clean title in hand

• Car has been garaged its whole life.

The car was taken care of, it just was time for a restoration and then life happened so it wasn’t completed. The car has been buried in the garage for about 13 years.

• All new stuff dates back about 13 years.
• Body has been partially sanded for paint…needs final sanding, prep, paint.

► Mechanical:
• New GM Crate engine – Stock replacement 350 V8 – this is NOT a high performance engine (rated up to 260hp). The engine is in the car but install is not complete and has never been started. Most of the needed parts are installed…intake with crossfire injection water pump, belts, plugs, wires…etc. The crate engine valve covers were replaced with the original Corvette valve covers. Engine compartment has been cleaned up.
• Cross-Fire manifold milled open to match gaskets. (C4 guys will understand that)
• New Suspension Bushings installed front /rear and suspension parts cleaned up.
• New Ball-Joints.
• New Bilstein shocks.
• Have new u-joints for the drive train but never installed (still in boxes.)
• New braided Stainless brake lines from chassis to caliper.
• New A/C compressor and some parts.
• Nearly new rebuilt automatic transmission and torque convertor.
• New Chrome 5 spoke wheels and tires (again these new parts are actually 13 years old so the tires should be replaced due to age)
• Smog pump removed and a billet aluminum bracket installed in its place with a new sized serpentine belt.
• Needs new battery.

► Interior is in good shape except for:
- The driver’s seat has some cracks and a hole in the side bolster. Passenger side looks good.
- Driver’s side door panel carpet is dry rotted but I have a replacement for that.
-The headliner needs replacing the roof panel is removable so it should be easy.
- Digital dash was getting a bit weak.

► Exterior is in good shape except for:
- Body has been sanded for paint (original clear coat failed) …sanding is not complete.
- The age warping on the top of the front bumper cover.
- The side window wipes are completely shot and need replacing.
- Windshield wipers need some attention…they occasionally run into each other.

Other notes:

As far as I know the electronics all work (at least they did back then)…one headlight opens slower than the other. The driver’s side window opens slowly. The radio (Bose) is not working that well.

The fuel system will have to be cleaned.

The car is not running so it will need to be towed.

► Parts also included:
• The original wheels/tires
• The old engine short block (on small roller stand)

Thanks for looking,

Hi Mark,

You've definitely got my attention! I've been keeping my eyes open for a car like yours and would be VERY interested in seeing some pictures of what you've got. IIRC you're only a little over 4 hours from me...so logistics are no biggie for me...it's a day trip.

I'll stay tuned...

Regards,

Dave

I thought I could take some quick pics but I do need to get it out in the sun to get decent pics....that will happen today.

Red86Z51 02-12-2018 10:23 AM

Sounds good! Did you get belted with snow Friday and Saturday? We missed all of that but made up for it a with a nice glazing of ice yesterday. I'd rather have the snow. I don't fall walking in snow...well, as much anyway.

This is kind of a random mess of photos and the sun was in the wrong place (half in the shade :willy:)...but I did get it out of the garage! ...and then I closed the hood and it wont open...:toetap:...we even put zip ties on the latches just in case. I will get it open!..just not today...I'm a bit under the weather and had enough! One more thing...the battery is dead and the windows are down so we just covered it up with plastic. :willy: And another thing...the cool factory air cleaner housing is still in the garage and in good shape.

Cheers!

We got plenty of snow and it was so cold today the Windex I grabbed to clean the wheels froze to the wheels before I could wipe it off! :willy:

Hi Mark,

The pictures look terrific, thank you!

I am not on my computer right now, but will send you a PM later when I get back to home base and back on my own machine.

Mark,

Would it be possible for you to snap a pic of the Service Parts Identification label located inside the center console, and post it here?

Dave

I just looked and there is no label that I could see...it is dark out...are you sure the 84 had that?

A few random shots under the car in the back...taken in the dark :ack: (the exhaust is not mounted on the car)..and one of the side jacking rail area.

I'm sorry, I gave you the wrong location for the SPID, that label should be located in the driver side rear storage compartment, as seen in the example below. These labels were put into all cars and list all of the RPO codes the car was built with.

My apologies for the mis-direction! :ack:

Nope!...does not have that. One bin has jack info, the other, nothing...maybe it was removed. I did find a crappy copy of the window sticker Thomet Chevy in Lowell MI...I got to drive it home when new...one of the first in the area...so cool. I have more stuff but I cant find a few boxes. I did find a giant GM repair manual ans a couple haynes.
