I bought a C7 at 20! I'm a hustler, and I love them! (:

Buying a C7 has been a goal of mine since I was a sophomore in high school, and when these beauties first started popping up on the streets. The car is absolutely stunning, I love my C7 it is a base 2lt model. I haven't been able to test it on the track yet, but I have had a bit of fun with it!(: I hope I'm a good inspiration for those of you young guys who aspire to own a car like this, if you don't already! I'm a high school dropout, and I made all of my money online. Everyone will tell you, you can't do something... Don't believe them, just do what you love, do what you're good at, and you'll kill it! Do it online though... The internet is definitely the future guys!

Congrats. I'm on my third one at 27 and I think this will be my last as GM will not fix my transmission issues. What year is your car? Hopefully you didn't get a '15+ with the piece of shit 8-speed.

If you bought new, at 20, you're ahead of most of us.

Congrats on buying your first Corvette.
You might want to buy an extended GM warranty. It's the GMEPP warranty.

Congrats.

Have you started a retirement account or have other investments? (Yeah, I'm a Debbie Downer, but it's still good advice)

Corgidog1 02-14-2018 08:27 AM

I bought my 2015 C7 at 66 and I graduated high school- so much for the value of an education...

patentcad 02-14-2018 08:41 AM

Congrats kid.

This can't end well. But therein lies the adventure.

Just keep the rubber side down. Respect the power of the car, it's a little ridiculous. You know like handing trump the nuclear football.

Congrats! Couldn't afford mine till 31, would drive to Corvette dealerships when I was 16 and just try and vision the dream.

Rather that.... take my advice... if you did not pay cash for the car... make as many extra payments as you can and research interest. That will make you more responsible and depending on your interest rate you will end up doing better than investing. Learn about interest and then learn about investing.

I will check out your video later.

I can't believe you are actually sitting on the rear hatch.

I was thinking the same thing. I would never ever never do that. I've had several people admire my C7 and for some strange reason they just have to touch it with their fingers...makes me cringe. :nono: Sitting ON my car would be grounds for justifiable homicide. :smash:

Congrats. Advise: Don't let ANYONE sit on your Vette. Sit in it, it's more fun that way. Both clear coat and plastic/carbon fiber will thank you.

 Congratulations and enjoy it.

glava2876 02-14-2018 03:06 PM

Congratulations -that is awesome!
Have fun, be safe and enjoy your ride.
My first car after HS in 74 was a 64 Impala, 283 with a 2 speed and about 150k miles -loved that car!

Yep, sitting on the rear hatch with shoe heels rubbing the bumper, is more typical behavior for a youth where mom and dad bought the Corvette (of course not suggesting that's what happened here).

I purchased a new 1975 Stingray convertible (about $7500) when I was 18 with 10 years savings from cutting grass, delivering newspapers and fixing small engines.
I worked so hard for so long for that car, I don't know what I would have done if someone sat on it. I washed it like twice a week. Loved that Vette and was my favorite of all I've owned.

Enjoy and take care of it.
