Glad to see somebody posting a video on this subject. Both cars are gorgeous, I honestly can’t tell a difference from the video.

Grozny 02-21-2018 06:29 PM

Going with the left car came out of the new paint shop.

ersatz928 02-21-2018 06:41 PM

I say Left is the new paint shop.

Bob U 02-21-2018 06:52 PM

I agree, left looks a little clearer.

Same here.:confused2::confused2::confused2:

I say right car came out of new paint shop. I could see OP in both, but it looked like more distortion in the light reflection of the left. This is fun!

traronf 02-21-2018 07:16 PM

If I was to guess the left car came from the new paint shop, but they are so close both are nice.

c54u 02-21-2018 07:21 PM

I would buy either one of them.

They both look good to me.

dyoung 02-21-2018 07:23 PM

Hard to tell, but I would go with the left car also. But contrary to a few other posts on here about paint quality they both look good enough.

J.Moore 02-21-2018 07:30 PM

Hard for me to tell by the vids. Would be easier of course if the cars were viewed up close and in person. I see OP in both. I don't see that much of a difference in the two from this video. Watch him say they are both from the old paint shop or both are from the new paint shop.

If GM spent big bucks for the little improvement that may be in this video, wow, I don't know. I haven't seen that many C7's with really bad OP.

C7DriverOnt 02-21-2018 07:33 PM

What a waste of time that video was! All sizzle , no steak , figures a salesman did it. Think I'd pass if this guy was trying to sell me a car.

vxplt 02-21-2018 07:45 PM

Both look awesome... I’ll go with RIGHT...😀

Ronstar 02-21-2018 07:50 PM

It the first to try and show paint quality on a video. Don’t think you can see it unless in person

FX VETTE 02-21-2018 08:15 PM

:lurk:

I’m going with “left” is the new one. There’s another clue in the video: the car on the right has a VA inspection sticker whereas the one on the left does not. I’ll assume that the one that’s been there the longest is more likely to have been inspected.

Rick is a good guy (although a little goofy at times :D) and knows his Corvette's, not your typical car salesman. His Vlogs are entertaining and informative.

He was doing something A LOT of people on this forum have been wondering about which is whether or not there's a difference in the paint quality between the old paint shop and new paint shop. Why you would take time to complain about that is completely beyond me, but then again some people just like to be a pain in the a$$.

Either one still needs "paint correction" before quartz coating to get the finish so it looks like you are looking in a mirror. Both have "some" distortion (wavy reflections) which has to be corrected before coating, otherwise one is wasting his money if they desire perfection. The highs/lows in paint have to be eliminated as much as possible so there is little to no distortion. PS: I just had mine done professionally by Car Pro dealer using CQuartz Professional, so yeah, experience.

Paint

I am going with the left from the new line.
