car hessitates is almost violent
my 1995 C4, 6 speed manual gearbox, corvette will falter for a second before it takes off, it usually occurs going around corners, but it will happen if I floor it while movingin a straight line, same from a stopped position. It will happen with traction control on or off. If the car was carburated it would be the accelerator pump, but this is EFI. If you are not belted into your seat when it falls flat on her face you will thrown into the dash pad or windshield. Anyone have a possible reason or cause????? Thank you

Fuel pressure reg. is partly responsible for throttle tip in enrichment, check fuel pressure with and without vac. hooked up. Good luck!

My first test would be the Throttle position sensor....but checking fuel pressure is never a bad idea.

..... Keep your fuel tank more than half full all of the time ... the fuel is sloshing away from the pump pick-up on turns and hard acceleration ... this is a documented issue with C4 Corvettes .....

All the above is what I would do along with plugs and wires.

My previous '92 a4 and my current '93 m6 both do/did this when there is a 1/4 tank or less of fuel in the car. Yes, it can be very disturbing when it happens. I just drive like Grandma to the gas station when the gas is low in the car.

Good things the check just to get them out of the way. You might actually have to drive with a fuel pressure gauge taped to the windshield. I would suggest EGR possibly (as I had a bad one), but I don’t believe the 96 has a EGR. *Check for a vacuum leak *Check the vacuum line for the FPR for any fuel in it. *While the engine is running, move around the wiring, plugs and connectors for the ignition system to see if there is any response to a loose connection. |
Check to see if water pump is leaking. If it is the original opti replace it. All problems relate to this POS design.
