63 Fuelie Convert, Silver Blue, Duntov
63 Convertible, Silver Blue, dark blue interior, white top. L84, 327-360 Fuel Injected, real original engine (a born-with block) and fuel unit. Options are: AM-Wonderbar radio, 4 speed, posi-traction, optional hard top. An early production car, it was delivered in Ridgecrest, California, and spend much of its early life in the California desert, resulting in one of the the most solid frames I've seen. Later, it journeyed east to Maryland, where it received its first body-off restoration in 1998. It then received multiple NCRS Top Flight awards, an NCRS 'Duntov' award, Bloomington Gold, and a Triple Crown. Subsequently sold into a large indoor collection, it remained there until 2011, when it again underwent a comprehensive body-off re-restoration. After that restoration, it scored 99.2 (of 100) points at 2013 NCRS National, a score seldom seen in National meets. It then went on to become one of only a handful of cars to receive a second National Corvette Restorers Society "Duntov" award, the highest available Corvette award. All of the rare, expensive original parts that were on the car at its last judging are still on it. The reproduction bolt-on aluminum wheels and radial tires in some pics do not go with the car, (unless the buyer wants them instead of the judged stock bias tires and stock 63 rims shown in the snowy pic) . Driven minimally since its last showing, perhaps a total of 400 miles, just enough to keep it running perfectly, it is still in pristine condition, starts instantly and runs exactly like a car that's passed an NCRS Performance Verification should. This is a real, special, no excuses, car, perhaps one of the nicest 63's on the planet.
