My 2016 stingray lt3 started having troubles from the start. TC 2 of them, flexplate, drive shaft, driveshaft clamp. And then it finally ate up my crankshaft and starter. After 148 days in the shop I went Lemon law. That is now all done. No more Corvette.

I really liked the car, but enough is enough.

Thanks to GM Engineering for letting this baloney exist. Even the 2019's have the 8L90.

If a dealer is going to sell Corvettes they need qualified technicians to repair the product.

I wish I had looked at this website before I bought.

Even the most reliable car made still has it's lemons from time to time. Sorry you had bad luck with yours but most people on here have not been so unfortunate. If everyone came onto this site and looked at all the posts complaining about their problems and then used that to determine if they wanted one, nobody would buy one. Forums like this always exaggerate the problems and don't focus on the large number of reliable ones that are out there. I only have 1700 miles on mine but it's 100% flawless, I have not had any issues with it at all. Hopefully that continues, but even if it doesn't, I won't let it get me down. I love this car more than any car I've ever owned.

:iagree: The C7 has more than average reliability issues. I have owned new Corvettes since the late 80s the most reliable were my two C6s. The C7s racy styling caused me to trade in my 2013 Vert for the Grand Sport and by far the 2017 has been the most problematic Corvette I have ever owned. Good luck in what you decide to purchase as a replacement.

I'm almost afraid to write this, knock on wood. I have had my 2015 Z06 for over 3 years no and absolutely no problems.

Its a shame this sort of thing happens. Especially in light of the fact that there actually are some techs that can fix anything, and get it right. Its too bad they are so few and far between.

You can thank your good fortune for the Texas Lemon Law. That, and that you didn't buy it out-of-Texas.

Hopefully, you were made whole and can move beyond the Lemon and the Dealer. I wish you the best going forward.

Its not just a tech problem. There are some poorly engineered components that compromise the quality of the car.

Same here. I had a 2016 Camaro SS with the 8 speed auto and the TC started shuttering at 3000 miles. I went with the M7 this time in the Vette, so far so good.

Same here. 2017 Camaro SS had the TC shudders at 1800 miles. Was never right since. Got my Z51 with m7 now.

We've owned 4 new Corvettes (2001, 2006, 2009, now 2017). They have been the most problematic cars we have ever owned, and each new one has been worse than the previous. Except for the 2017, which is still doing well after 10 months/11k miles; keeping my fingers crossed.

my 2014 z51 A6 no issues. will have it 4 years as of 3-27-2018 2 more days it will be his birthday :cheers::cool:

I just browsed a bmw forum and looked at some of their posts, there are some really unhappy people there. In the 4 years I have owned it I have had no out of pocket expenses for repairs, just lots of mods but I have a big smile on my face with 610 whp.

here is just one post I read

A lady walks into a BMW dealership. She browses around, spots the Top-of-the-line Beemer and walks over to inspect it. As she bends over to feel the fine leather upholstery, she inadvertently breaks Wind. Very embarrassed, she looks around nervously to see if anyone has noticed her little accident and prays that a sales person doesn't pop up right now. As she turns around, her worst nightmare materializes in the form of a salesman standing right behind her. Cool as a cucumber and displaying complete professionalism, the salesman greets the lady With, "Good day, Madame. How may we help you today?" Just got out of a POS F10 550. Thing chewed thru injectors, coils and plugs, not to mention turbo plumbing.

I am sorry you had a bad experience with your Vette. No make or model does not experience something similar to what you did. Unfortunately for you, you got a lemon. I sorry this experience is going to keep you from owning another, because I believe they are very good cars. Perfect? No. Fun, reliable, and cheap to maintain? Yes.

I am on my fifth Vette, and have a sixth ordered. I have daily driven my Vettes for 21 years and have driven 275,000 miles on them with basically just fluid changes and a couple of minor maintenance items.

My current '14 has 45,000 miles on it an without any problems.

OP is right. Reading on this forum that 2014 A6 tranny or a M7 is the car to have. I’m lucky to have been on this forum 9 months prior to purchase. Do the math. How many C7 Corvettes sold and how many Corvette forum members. I’m guessing only a small number of C7 owners are posting on this forum. That leaves a lot of potential TC issues that we don’t here of. I’m a proud owner of a 2014 ( no TC issues ). OP went through a nightmare to have such a great looking comfortable car. Then not be able to drive it. Good luck on new purchase.
