DSC sport for a 2019?

Does anyone know if the dsc sport will work on a 2019 without any issues?

I ordered one last month for my car that is being built next month.

GhostBluZ06 04-10-2018 07:38 AM

TOPSPOT 04-10-2018 10:40 AM

Will ping Michael Levitas and am sure he will respond shortly. Know he is getting his Poorsha race cars ready for some testing / racing I believe at VIR

Any update on this?

tome 10-25-2018 07:32 PM

Works...... well, that is a interesting question. Reminds me of the "what is the definition of sex" question. I say this because they sold me a unit for my 2019 Z06 (6 months ago) and I installed it. While the car certainly rides and handles better, all the PTM functions are gone. When I called them they said oh don't worry we are just finishing up those specs and will be done in a couple of weeks. Well it's 6 months later and I still do not have an updated unit. So I guess the correct answer is NO it doesn't work.

Poor-sha 10-26-2018 11:43 AM

They thought they had it fixed and even tested it on a couple cars and it seemed to be working but would stop after a while. I tested an older Z06 stock controller in my 2019 and it worked so the problem is likely something simple. Unfortunately Mike has been tied up with the end of the race season and SEMA which has slowed their ability to troubleshoot when they do get their hands on a 2019.

ashmostro 10-26-2018 02:36 PM

On my 2018 it does adjust the suspension, but it completely disables PTM modes. So, if my use case was purely street driving it would be great. For track driving, it's effectively unusable until DSC updates the firmware to be able to speak with the onboard PTM functionality.

I also had issues with connectivity but I'm not sure that's a model year issue vs just a connector problem with my particular DSC.

Wait... what?? I just ordered one and its on the way. They never said anything about it not working on a 2019!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ashmostro 10-28-2018 07:25 PM

It "works" just not perfectly if you want to use PTM.

For me if PTM is broken I might as well send it back. I bought it primarly for track usage and use PTM on track all the time. I've sent them email and pointed them to this thread, lets see what they reply with. I get my DSC controller on Wednesday (It shipped before I saw this thread)

Agreed personally. I've sent mine back for repair (unrelated) but I won't reinstall it until the PTM firmware is built. I use my car on the track and I had material braking malfunction issues due to the PTM incompatibility. I've reverted back to the gm controller and can't stand track mode but don't have much of a choice.

Pasting the email I got back from DSC. Bummer!! :(

In some cases it has disabled PTM. The update for firmware will be available soon for this fix for 2018 and 2019 vehicles. The DSC controller will still function normal with no problems. It is just related to the next firmware update to come from the engineer.

and don't hold your breath waiting on the PTM to work "in the next couple of weeks"..... I've heard that lie for 7 months now.

3 days ago sent PM to them and still waiting on an answer. My patience has run out, like it matters I'm sure since it's been so long my CC company won't do anything.

w00tw00t 10-29-2018 11:44 PM

Here's what I got today:

I know it will be very soon as we have two C7's one being a 2018 and one a 2019 to help finalize this firmware. We don't have an exact date at this time.

Sorry about the disappointment, we will have it ready soon. The engineer is currently attending SEMA this week and I will bring this point back up that people are waiting on the firmware release.

Regards,

DSC Sport Jeremy

This is good to hear, Mike. You guys also have my unit in for repair for my 2018 application (intermittent connectivity issue), but as a 2018 owner I have the same PTM issue and would like to see the incompatiility resolved as soon as possible. Also, as a NoVA resident, let me know if there’s anything I can do in the way of local testing.

Ash
