First Impressions!!! ZR1 Haters need not read

Picked up the car in bowling green on Monday Car is Sebring Orange with ZTK package. let me first say Pictures do not do this car Justice the lines and total look of the car is totally different in person. GM you did a great job. For those of you who complain you will find something to complain about for sure. this is not the thread for you.

Interior and infotainment: First thing we noticed is the Weather and Economy PTM modes are gone. The Double diamond stitching in the interior is quite impressive, the car also has some copper/bronze like accented trim that my 2016 Z06/Z07 did not have. these were black in the other cars. The piece on the steering wheel has a shadowed out ZR1 Logo in it pretty nice IMO. Not to mention all the carbon fiber accents it just looks and feels like it is supposed to.

handling and performance: Let me first say I have had a 2015 Z06/Z07 M7, 2016 Z06/Z07A8 and my wife currently owns a 2016 Z06/Z07 A8. this car is not the at all like the Z06. First thing you notice is the Shifting is quicker and crisper. The lower end torque and throttle response is like night and day compared to the "Stock Z06" Please understand I love the Z06. these 2 car are light year apart in performance. It just feels different. The Exhaust screams like there are 755 raw horses wanting to be released when throttling up. From what I understand the ZR1 is made of a different alloy and the sound from the exhaust is significantly different than any other Corvette made. When downshifting the sound is so toxic it will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. I have a vide and will post later of the sound it is insane. I have not pushed it to hard waiting on the break in oil change.

Me and the wife are on vacation with the car and we'll post some pics and videos when we get some time. If you don't like attention do not buy this car it is not for you.

Live it you only get one chance!

From silver to orange, strange doing that too, but keeping the silver one. Thanks for taking the time to do a write up, talked to someone else last night that got their ZR1, has a Z06 too, and said a lot of what you just said. Best of luck with it

Congratulations! The performance of the car can't be denied. I love my 17 Z06. However when the discounts start hitting the ZR1 hard I may give it a shot. To close the 911 territory now.

A lot of engineering went into the production of this monster. Your review is as startling as some of the stingray to Z06 reviews we’ve read. Enjoy and be safe.

Picked mine up last week. I had a 2010 GS and the ZR1 is night and day different. Completely agree with everything said by the OP. Completely impressed by the ZR1 and very happy with the purchase.

Livinlife - I got the exact same color and ZTK as well. Congrats on the new car. Happy motoring!

I completely agree. It was one of the first things I noticed. I feel bad for the aftermarket exhaust guys because I have a feeling noone is going to want to lose that sound by changing to a different exhaust. I'm like a little kid when I drive it and keep doing it over and over because I love that sounds so much!

Congrats on the car btw!!!!!:thumbs::thumbs:

It’s the same one I ordered in came in two weeks ago but left on display at MacMulkins only because of knee replacement could not get in but tomorrow is the day and can’t wait.
Taking wife out for cruise Saturday.
Even though my 2016 Z06 ended up with 717hp I know this car is going to be the best of the bunch. So good luck and happy driving

I sold my 2016 Z06/Z07 in Februray it had a stage 2 kit from vengeance racing in Atlanta. Although it was impressive this thing is in a different league. You will not be disappointed can't wait to see what the shops can do with this thing.

Congrats!

Cannot wait to pick a lightly tickled one after it depreciates 44% in the next 5 years.

Bob U 04-11-2018 02:34 PM

Congrats and thanks for the write-up.
