Center Cap Trivia

Total Trivia-
Looking at the two pictures, you can see that the "point" of the center cap flags is aimed at the locking nut on one wheel, and aimed at the valve stem on the other wheel. With this setup, which do you prefer? (Yes, the wheels are dirty. We got back from a 8,400 mile road trip last night and I haven't cleaned up the car yet.) |
What pictures?

You're too quick for me!

Wow. That's being picky. Nothing wrong with that. Now I'm on my way out to the garage to see where mine are pointed. I think they should be pointed at the V in the Corvette stamp. When you read Corvette the logo is positioned correctly.

Corvette Museum Delivery always points to valve stem!!

If you aim the point of the flags at the valve stem, then either the flags or the word "Corvette" on the rim is always upside down. If you aim the point of the flags at the word "Corvette", at least some of the time they are both correctly oriented. Decisions, decisions... Thanks for all the comments so far. |
The bigger questions is....will anyone else notice.....or care (for that matter)?

I like mine pointing in all different directions
Do you think we can get that added as an option? Chip |
Pointing the crossed flags staff at the valve stem started way back when wheels were a lot simpler. Nothing wrong about it at all. Now, though, with logos on the factory wheels we have a another option and that's to point the staff towards the logo. It looks cool.
For me, its a red backing under the crossed flags on chrome wheels with the Corvette logo painted red, all matching the red calipers behind it all. This quick pic shot in the garage doesn't do it justice. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...ef23e8b916.jpg |

Locking nuts are the first things removed from any car I own. They are of the devil.
That being said, I drive my car hard enough that the caps all wind up in different locations because of the massive spinnage applied rapidly. (the correct technical answer is valve stems BTW). |
Too aNNal.

This post is worse than the one about how to close your door right. Come on.

No flags on these custom Forgeline caps but it's lined up with the valve stem

What difference does it make either way?

If in fact GM is specifically pointing the flag in one direction or the other (WHICH I REALLY DOUBT) there's a lot other more important things they could and should be focusing their time and efforts on.
