Yep just watched it. Man if he would launch it better it could probably do 10.7’s on stock tires. Pretty good stuff. Can’t wait to read the incoming hate.

If you watched the video you’ll see that he played the video of that 10.1 pass you linked and while he gave credit he thinks, rightfully so, that drag radials is not bone stock. Read and listen more. He also talked about people like you, he reads these forum posts ya know. You opened your mouth in two threads before you engaged your brain.

He mentions that in his video. However, he is of the same opinion as I am... Drag radials = not bone stock.

The passes were worlds better than his previous ones. If he could figure out how to launch at 1500-3000 and feather the clutch he’d cut 10.7s or faster. All his time is lost in his 60’ because his shifts are pretty solid and he’s not even using NLS. He just had the slightest bog on his 10.9s. The 3rd pass would have been a 10.8 or 10.7 if he hadn’t missed 3rd. The 60’ was good and I knew it instantly even with the wheel hop but my heart sank when he jammed 3rd. Good stuff.

And by the way, Mike is on these forums even if he’s just an observer. How can people have so much hate for someone they’ve never met? First manual made, first in the 10s, first to 180+ MPH, he’s driving the snot out of it which is what most people wish youtubers did, he’s showing tons of ZR1 content when not many others are. What more do you want? Him to be the stig and talk like a hedge fund manager? I mean give him a break. You people wouldn’t be happy hung with a new rope it seems.

Yep M7 on stock rubber vs A8 on tire. IMO People should stop comparing them. Look at M7 vs M7 instead. The A8 has a nice gearing advantage
over the M7. :cheers:

It was a joke, thus the winky. I was in the same boat as him about 9 years ago. One of the first to run the then new ZR1s at the drag strip.

Given that Mike is hardly an expert or highly proficient quarter-miler with a manual, this would seem to bode pretty well for the M7.

Some better drivers are going to drop that et lower.

Lets face it, the C6 ZR1 top few passes were with REALLY good drivers. Kyle Lemish and the other guys' passes are pretty much perfect. Mike is simply the first guy with enough coin/time to get to the track and he ran a 10. And technically it is the world record for a stock tire M7 ZR1.

No shit Sherlock. Anything that allows you to just stage and put your one foot to the floor and hold the wheel straight is going to be easier than staging, raising the idle to 1500-3000, feathering and slipping the clutch to minimize bog, put your foot down and rev out the gear, foot off the gas, clutch in, shift, clutch out, foot to the floor (This is all x 4 times). Driving quickly with a Manual car when going for fastest passes possible is an art form. There's nothing you can hide. On a road course there's more places to hide with rev match, and granny shifting being allowed. On a strip, no such thing. And lots of people are watching. Hell, in Mike's case, hundreds of thousands of people are going to be watching.
