can I get a core charge of 2000$ first? Lol they’re not bad don’t be a smart ass but honestly you think you can get 700whp for a long time with the stock rods? 50k miles? Why can’t these engines be robust like the new 5.0s they can take 700-800whp with 50k miles (supposedly) from this performance shop that I was talking to about a blower for my friends car. Funny story my friend couldn’t wait so he bought it himself even though I told him to let me do it and the moron bought the wrong blower lmao |

Coyotes cant make 7-800whp for 50k miles, most shear the oil pump drive off resulting in a seized motor; well short of 10K miles so IDK where you get your info but may want to dbl check it

use a shop that specializes in these cars. aren't you the guy who had issues with a build? while i would never bash a business without cause too many small town machine shops with egos have been responsible for broken parts. texas speed. lingenfelter, katech, AHP. use someone with history. everything from the ramp rates of the cam to knowing which end of the clearance spec is best for longevity comes with experience specific to this engine

Stock Ti rod, re-coated by Calico with a forged Wiseco replacement piston As you can see they are pretty generous with how much they coat it, but it least it helps against them rubbing into each other. We do also switch to a ARP bolt and all clearances are checked with them installed accordingly. Thats what hat we were going to do but he got a set of rods from someone for a 1500hp build 4340 forged so he is gonna use this and made it valence almost close to stock. |
Stock rods with CP 10:1 pistons making 837whp on boost here. The pistons and sleeves will fail before the rods.

How many failures of stock rods has he seen or read about in 600/700HP cars? Isn't that evidence enough? I personally have never read about or seen it happen.

As far as I know there hasn’t been a failure at any power level were the ti rods have been found to be the root cause. Ask katech. I bought some and am getting them sent out to katech for rebushing for my 800 max hp 427 build. Swap pistons and keep it moving.

Always fun responding in a thread with a blocked OP, but a 600rwhp n/a bone stock ls7 can last 50k+ miles as proven time and time again, or blow up in <1k and a few months like the OP did to his. Quoting any type of time frame for a motor to last, without application, use, and all the unknowns like how stupid the owner is, quality of the tune, is impossible. You can drop $50k on a top of the line amazing 2000hp+ capable motor, and the OP could blow it up in <1000 miles.

Horse power to the wheels. I’m shooting for 750. All my tranny parts are rated to 800. Beyond 800 is psycho realm. Death wish on the street
750WHP seems good to me lol gonna ask my engine builder if it can hold up to 750whp 30k miles at that power level seems reasonable. Im thinking of tearing my heads of and mamo intake tb and cai in a year or so and sell that stuff and get a set of good flowing ls9 heads and a ls9 blower and accessory kit and shoot for 750whp on E. i would like to do it in phases for power bump up 50hp i guess everytime. Quick question would there be less stress on the motor if i lets say ported the blower? add 50hp that way than adding 1-2 pounds of boost? |

You can’t build a NA short block and then decide to go FI next year on the same short block. You are better using Nitrous if you want to be NA but have more hp at the track. |

its been my plan guy to have a ls7 setup to be NA and then down the road be capable to handle nos or boost if i wanted. at 11:1 compression on e85 which should be alright. hopefully lol.
 |

11:1 Is stock compression on a ls7. For boost you want less more like 10:1 or lower. do you drag race btw? maybe ill run into you some day racing. always love seeing vettes  |
Yeah been to Sac and Sonoma raceway. Car should be back up pretty soon. |

i run a 12:1 Nitrous setup and you can’t do that with FI. That is why I suggested that you decide your end game now so you don’t have to change something later that you can address now. |
