Looks like I'm going to lose my 92.

Take it and buy something nicer, rarer, newer, more interesting and/or more challenging. Some times you just can't escape being given too much money for an automobile. It has happened to me twice, once a Mustang LX and found a (much) nicer Camaro and again on an '84 Corvette and found a '96 CE/LT4. :woohoo:

Congrats lotto stud.

For a stock car in excellent condition, it is a big win.

This year I could go up to $15k once it's sold. Maybe a mint LT-4 or 2003/04 C5 or 05/ 06 C6 ?

I'm torn about selling, but know I'll never get an offer like this again.

I've got about $11k into it. Seems like it one thing after another. I guess 26 years old is taking it's toll.

I have more than that into the car but like everything else if you use it more, it isn't fair to say that the item is worth what you paid for it. New motor costs $10k,10 years later ,it isn't worth $10k anymore Deprecated is the way I look at it

May have an opportunity to look at a 94 doug rippe 383 6M with coil-overs and wilwood brakes with 29,000 miles. Not sure if it's been beat to death?

Then you might as well sell your house and move too, I wouldn't want to see my beloved car in my neighbors driveway...

Yes, I am torn. She's a nice example of a loaded 92. 57,000 miles, everything works, bose gold, FX3, G44, sport seats and the glass targa option.

How much would it really bother you if you were driving something that you wanted even more than what you had? You're going to get more than your money back. Unfortunately it's probably a one shot opportunity.
Decisions.....decisions......good luck with what ever you decide.

I've heard, best to get either a 03 or 04 and stay away from the early C5's.

kimmer 04-22-2018 12:07 PM

Bought my C5Z last August, no way can you buy one for 15k. Maybe one with over 100k miles and with an accident on a Carfax. But yeah stepping up to a C5Z, especially an 02+ is beyond worth it.

BillDurant 04-22-2018 01:42 PM

92

You should for sure take that
then start looking for another Vette. Half the fun is looking

100k isn't the same as it was back in the 80s or so it seems to be these days I have 480k on my 99 W210
