Will C8 cater for a Right Hand Drive market

Does GM have any plans to build the C8 in right hand drive?

They never have, so I'm not sure that will change. See here https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...australia.html

According to articles on the intenet they would make you think that they will be made RHD from factory.

But I am not sold on that. Be interesting to see what happens.

Here's a list of countries that use RHD cars:
  • Australia
  • Caribbean Islands*
  • Channel Islands
  • Cyprus
  • Japan
  • Hong Kong
  • India
  • Isle of Man
  • Ireland
  • Jamaica
  • Kenya
  • Malta
  • Malaysia
  • New Zealand
  • South Africa
  • Singapore
  • Thailand
  • UK
I'd see a niche market at best in the UK and Japan. Maybe a bit better in Australia and NZ. But hardly enough to justify RHD production I'd think.

You never know, I know comparing apples to oranges but Ford has now started producing RHD Mustangs (selling in India).

I did some more research into this and got some info. I can say it is looking extremely doubtful they will come RHD from factory.

What type of information did you get back.

Thanks in advance

A ME car is easier to adapt to the steering wheel on the wrong side market than a FE car.

Also selling very well in Australia as well. Mustangs have been selling in Australia for 18 months since the Ford manufacturing stopped here. Holden/ GM has stopped car manufacturing here too. ie Commodore/ the US SS you imported. So, GM has to come up with a RHD vehicle muscle car to Australia in the next few years. Will it be a corvette or a Camaro? My guess is the Camaro because it has back seats.

You just contradicted yourself? As you said, a mid engine car is easier for the steering to be put on either side. ie lhd or rhd. So, that does give the c8 a chance to be both and exported to rhd countries!

Zambia -Zimbabwe-Botswana, Mozambique- Malawi-Namibia- Madagaskar- Dagen H (H day) was the day, 3 September 1967, on which traffic in Sweden switched from driving on the left-hand side of the road to the right. The “H” stands for “Högertrafik”, the Swedish word for “right traffic”.
