Hello All,
I just registered after lurking for about two years. My brother passed away several years ago and left a 68 roadster in rough shape in his storeroom along with a multitude of parts. It was very overwhelming at first, but growing up in the early 60's I was familiar with mechanicing and he always had Corvettes. We spent many years drag racing. His first was a 64 roadster with a 365 HP engine. We sure used that one up. He went through about six more over the years and ended up with this one that he put a 454 with a blower in it, He always wanted to put it back to original but life and ultimately his death kept him from doing so. At first I was reluctant to take it on but after finding the original big block (400 hp 427) with the proper VIN and dates on it, all cleaned up and ready to assemble I decided to start working on it. It is now drivable and a real joy. He had the 3x2 manifold but no carbs so that was a major expense but they have worked out great. I'll try to add pics but I'm not sure how yet.

Thank you all for the welcome. Over the last two years I have come to rely on this forum to find the answers to many questions. It has been a wellspring of knowledge and I appreciate it very much. The car is a joy to drive on the mountain roads and will be an ongoing project for many years. I really don't want a " show " car so i"ll just drive it and enjoy the corvette waves.
John

Welcome to the forum, John, and congratulations on the restoration you have done to your brother's last Corvette! A very nice tribute to him.
(Although the first photo looked like a nice, meek grocery getter! :D)
