ZR1 Locking Lug Nut Bags

I have found that most ZR1's have a locking lug nut bag that is green in color with black numbers 10180891 and black letters DUK.
If anyone has a different bag, such as clear would you let me know the type you have and the year.
Thanks

Locking Lug Nut Kit Bag

Thanks for the response. I believe from what we have developed is that the correct number for the 1990 ZR1 is 10080895 and it is Green Bag with Black Letters. For the 1991 ZR1 I have found that 10180891 Green Bag has been the bag we have seen the most.
This all came about because of a 1990 ZR1 that was presented for PV at the Carolina Regional last month and it had a clear bag with 10080895 number. The owner did not know the originality of the bag.
You also stated that your bag may not be an original.
What I am thinking, and that is dangerous, is that the clear bags with the correct numbers may have been replacement bags that individuals purchased at the dealer.
This is just a thought. Could you send along a photo of the bag in your possession, it would help out greatly.
Again, this is just my opinion, not the official position of NCRS.

Does the 'instruction sheet' in all of these display the same date/part # information? I realize that's easily duplicated but of those that are out there, do they or are there multiple 'known or thought to be appropriate' part# and date on the sheet.

It wouldn't be unusual that the part# of the 'instruction sheet' differ by 1 digit to that on the package.

There's I'm quite sure a date & part # on the instruction sheet if that's the instruction sheet in the package. Lower right corner similar to a drawing.

Locking Lug Nut Bags

You are correct about a date and part number on the Tire Changing Instructions. I have started to track them and have found that the early ones did have a date, sometimes I could not figure them out, but the later C4 Tire Changing Instructions (did not have a date in the lower right hand corner)

Do appreciate a photo of the Clear Locking Lug Nut Bag, This is exactly the same one I saw at the Carolina Regional. This is my thought and that is how I get in trouble, is that the clear bags may be replacement kits bought at the dealership. Other than that I have no answer other than multiple types of bags were used in the same year.
Here are some examples:
1985-Date-10-12-84 #14091983
1988-Date-26SE85 #1007413
1990-Date-31OC86 #1008086
1993-Date-None #10180889-This # is one higher than the bag #of the LT1.
1994 ZR1-Date-None #10180892-This # is also one higher than the ZR1 Bag Number.
1995-Date-None #10180892 - See above comments on LT1.

This is what I have in my Stuff.
Also, just my opinion.

I wouldn't sweat this, I had 2 ZR-1's top flighted and the jusges showed very little interest in this item and other items I had. (hang tags, original seat plastic, paper floor mats etc.) very small deduction if you don't have it.

Interesting thread. I had no idea ZR-1's came with locking lugs (obviously mine didn't).

What do the locking lug nuts look like?

Pat is searching for information that may be used to either correct any misinformation in the current judging manual, or adding finer details that will clarify for both the judges and the judging candidates what each car actually should have.
Over the years, the diligent pursuit of these details by Pat, Tom, and countless others have produced a very comprehensive judging manual for these cars.
I am always impressed by their endless pursuit of information to validate what is known about these cars.
Whenever an anomaly presents itself during a judging event, rest assured these gentlemen will spend countless hours surveying owners in order to map out what is correct.
They have never simply taken the position that what is currently written is the absolute indisputable truth. They continuously look to verify facts, and actually find the anomalies to be fascinating.
I am certain this has happened with the judging manuals of the earlier cars, but it has been fascinating for me to witness how the later C-4 manuals have and continue to evolve.
These are a dedicated group of guys and gals!

I don't have a photo of the end of locking lug nut that is on the tire, it is different then the stock ones and has a pattern all it own on its head.
It is removed by a special tool that comes with the respective Corvette.
It comes in a holder and has two parts. One of the parts has the matching pattern on the locking lug nut.

If I come up with a photo I will pass it one.

Locking Lug Nuts and Adapter

3 Attachment(s)
I am attaching a couple of photos for you. As you can see on the end of the lug nut adapter it is not smooth, but has various ridges. When you look at the lug nuts you will the same type of ridges. The adapter and the lug nuts are suppose to be identical to each other so that they fit together and no other lug nut and adapter is the same.
This I will not hold close to my heart.
Pat

So now the big question is where was the "Corvette" tire pressure gage from?

I have the 92 up tire pressure gage that is black, photos of the 90-91 are chrome with a Corvette Decal on it. I am still looking for one of those.

Just an update as I am looking at this post. I have located an original Schrader Flame Tip Tire Pressure Gage with the Corvette sticker on it. Would still like the 10080895 Green Bag for my 90 if anyone can help.

Thanks,
Joel

I remember my '93 came with the green bag and I think the 95 did also. Both had the Velcro thing and the rest of the stuff. --Bob
