Who makes this heater hose?

I'm replacing the heater hoses on the '64. Altho these are old, they seem to have retained a high degree of flexibility. Yet it seems - and I could be wrong - that they are sturdier than what I often get at the FLAPS.

I can't read the brand. They are USA made and the orange stripe should be a giveaway if somebody knows who makes it. I'd like to use the same stuff as replacement. Thanks!

Don, Gates does red stripe and white stripe. I have some of each in the shop. Dennis

Dennis, thanks, that has to be it. I faintly saw the word "safety". Gates advertises a "safety stripe" so hopefully I can track down the by-the-foot stuff. Looks like the number is M06033 but not sure. I downloaded a pdf with their catalog and it's 216 pages!

Your over thinking this. Just go to the parts store and ask for 3/4 and 5/8 heater hose. Nothing special about it

Yeah, I know they sell it. Half the time the hose they sell either feels too stiff, or feels too flimsy. This hose seemed like good quality altho it's hard to define why I think that. If I can find this stuff without climbing a mountain in Tibet, I'll go with the same brand.

I trust Gates and Goodyear, but Gates may be the most readly available. Dennis

I think the red stripe hose is discontinued, another forum I found had someone saying they could not find any - and that was from 2011. I'm just going to hit NAPA, Gates makes their NAPA Gold hose and I'll just use that. Not like it's going to be put to the torture test with a 250 hp car. Keith is sorta right - I'm only going to over-think it a little, not a whole lot!

Just don’t get the bright red hoses or blue ones. They look tacky. Stay with black

I agree, no chrome hoses for me!

Hey, mine has ugly red hoses..... And a blue hood painted goodwood green with a big a** crack in the rear quarter panel as well as a bubba added 63 nose emblem. Okay, I guess the red hoses fit mine and I don't like them either. I'm glad I'm not the only one that over thinks this stuff. :)

But are you enjoying yourself? That's all that really matters!

I'm on a music forum, and my "signature" under each post reads "Many play better than I do. Nobody has more fun."

Oh yeah. On many levels. I enjoy working on the car, learning a ton of new things and most importantly doing both along side my son.

Priceless. Enjoy him while you can, before you know it he'll be 30 and living 6 hours away.

Don, you have just a fantastic attitude! I wish you could spread that around more. Well done!

I told my kids when they were growing up, life is short, enjoy yourself. If you're not having fun......what's the point?

This discussion reminds me of the old joke about the guy who picks up a woman at a bar. They get back to his hotel room, he gets undressed, and she finds he has the smallest equipment she has ever seen.

"Who do you think you're going to satisfy with that?" she asks.

The guy gives a big grin and says "ME!"

(And before the obvious wise-guy question, no, that wasn't me it happened to!)
