Guage cluster removal

Looking for detailed instructions with pics on removing and replacing the instrument guage cluster on my '99. Condensation got behind the guage cluster screen so I need remove it to clean. Probably going to add guage bezels as well. Thanks.

I know this video does not show how to remove it, but please watch it before you try to put it back in.

That video ^ is NOT the correct way at all. I wish Vette Essentials still had their site up and running, they had awesome PDF instructions on how to remove the cluster. But their site is down, so hopefully someone copied the instructions and will post them for you.

It isn’t a hard job, just time consuming. You need to remove the center console, radio bezel, knee bolster and take out some bolts that hold the steering column up. You shouldn’t have to remove the dash itself or mess with the pillar like the video above mentions.

I do not know if they are still in business but Vette Esssentials had instructions for installing gauge bezels that would work for you. I tried to upload the PDF but it did not work. Send me a PM with your email and I will send it.

I've taken my instrument panel out 3 times in the last month, and taking out the bolt under the A pillar is a hell of a lot easier than removing the bolts that hold up the steering column.

Someone else posted this, so I don't want to take credit:
