power antenna wire
The guy I bought my 84 from had put a Pioneer SuperTuner in it. It has a lead marked power antenna. Which wire in the car should that be connected to? Currently the radio works fine but the power antenna does not go up and down. Makes it a pain to get the car cover on and off.

If it was me I would contact the PO and see if the antenna worked. Then if it did work previously you can then search which wire runs the power antenna.
IIRC on my 84 it was a pink wire that I hooked the wire from my new head unit. Hopefully someone else will post up to verify. |
I had a '91 and it was a pink wire too that powered the antenna.
Although a stock radio unit, accessed thru passenger kick panel. You may find it easier with aftermarket unit to connect directly. Good Luck and SAVE THE WAVE :flag: |
Pink wire for me also.

Ok, now I know it's the Pink wire. Now next question. Can I jump a 12v source to it thru a on/off toggle switch and control it manually? I want to be able to run it down for my car cover or if I have a CD in where I don't need or want it up.

Yes, you can do that.

Yes you can. I did that years ago and put the toggle where the electric seat controls would be
