$5.93 a gallon? Yes, ouch!

z06clif 05-09-2018 07:44 PM

Ouch....unreal. wonder why?

C6ToGo 05-09-2018 07:50 PM

$5.93 CAN or $4.63 US (I think).

$.78 US = $1 CAN
1 GAL = 3.78 Liter
$1.57 CAN per liter

1.57 x 3.78 x .78 = 4.63

Going crazy down here in Houston....$2.45 for reg.

Shaolin Crane 05-09-2018 08:48 PM

That's not much more expensive than here in LA

Trepanier 05-09-2018 08:55 PM

Beacuse health care is free ( or cheap) but than maybe it is not. Government has to pay for it so cost if living is twice, groceries cost twice as much, taxes are twice. Gasoline is double, other words nothing is for free.

Somebody has to pay for the "free" healthcare.

Considering Canada supplies the US with most of our oil for gas, it's 100% tax driven.

Oh Boy 05-09-2018 09:16 PM

$2.84 for regular and $3.15 for premium at Costco here in N.Y. and climbing. However my friend owns a gas station and when it was $2.59 I bought 500 gallons of regular for my daily driver because I knew it was going up. Now I just go in, take as many gallons as I need and sign for it until I deplete the 500 gallons.

It's even higher in Dallas. $3.49 for 93 octane at last fillup, and it's going to get worse.

Just wait a few weeks, you ain't seen nothin yet. the prediction is $4+ a gallon by mid summer:ack:

Yes, and I hope that 'they' lower the price of a two-four of beer back to $5, but that's not going to happen either.

Dano523 05-09-2018 11:20 PM

Not making sense for high oil prices since you guys have the third largest oil reserves, but on the other hand, you did allow for the high taxes on fuel via your monarchy goverement instead.

Hence I not insinuating anything, but the French people came up with a new plan in 1789 when their monarchy was not working out for them; to come up with a republic goverment instead. Kind of like we did in the states just before them in 1765 as well.

Better get used to it.
I paid $1.60 a litre for Shell 91 octane on Monday.

Where are you that you got such a bargain of $1.57 per litre? I filled up the Corvette with 94 octane Chevron on Monday and it was $1.65 in the eastern Fraser Valley in BC and even higher in Vancouver.

I have a Nexus card and live 15 minutes from a border crossing so I can fuel up stateside for about $2.80 a gallon. Unfortunately last time I went to cross the Nexus card wasn't a benefit since it was slow as hell due to them having 3 border guards searching every car creating quite a backup. They must have had tip and were looking for something or someone.

On the way home the Canadian border guards are asking if I'm bringing back any gas in jerry cans. I guess anything other than whet you put in your tank they will ding you for. :salute:

Not anymore. $3.11 for regular and $3.39 for premium at Costco.

And although they can charge duty when bringing it back, more likely they were making sure people weren't going over the (150L I think?) transporting limit, which has been a problem with your people.

I haven't been across with the Vette for a while the last few times with my diesel daily driver. The weather looks good for Friday so planning to do the Chuckanut drive then gulf islands and take the ferry then freeway home. Looking foreword to it since its one of my favorite places in WA.
