Sort of C4 tech related, C4 drag car

This is my 1990 C4 drag car that I have been working on all winter, I do not have a tech question but thought some of you guys may find this interesting.

-515 BBC HP TBD but should be between 700 HP and 1000 HP
-Holley EFI
-12.5 compression
-385 AFR heads
-Solid roller .790/.775 lift with 278/286 duration @ .050
-2.5" headers
-Vacuum pump
-2000 CFM throttle body
-Mutli port injection
-1.76 powerglide
-4.29 gears
-2400 race weight

Expected ET from 8.0 to 8.8, best educated guess ET 8.6, will find out soon.

Updated (Added the ET and weight)

I finally ran the car, it went 8.64 at 156 MPH and the car weighs 2500 lbs with me in it.

Car ran great.

Holy crap.. That thing looks like it's going a thousand miles an hour, parked in your garage!

Nice ride..

Too fast for me, but I'm glad someone is doing it. I like to watch!

That is a work of art you got there. Just one question, why not retain the full clamshell hood?

It is, it is a Mustang II style of front suspension. Next year I may go to a strut style of suspension, time will tell.

If you can squeeze a coilover in there and it works, might as well leave it !

It has coilovers in it currently, that is why i am not too concerned. I will run it as is and see how it works and if i decide to clean it up and save some weight will change it over next winter.

Needs more, time to add a S/C!

Silver85 05-17-2018 03:13 PM

WOW!! That looks amazing.

I have a million questions but I will only ask one. What class does this car run in?
