Starter not doing anything? Do you have headers? Is it just cranking?
This is the c4 section btw... |

suggested move to C3 section, anyway. |
Coil?
Take coil wire off and see if it has oil on it. |
starter going bad,or overheating
try driving it to get hot [bring a gal jug of water with],and if it doesn't start,try pouring a 1/2 a gal of water on it to cool it off,then see if it starts,, |
Does it crank over? Or does it do nothing when you turn the key? A little more info would be good.
|
had that problem many years ago, after i installed headers. that little inline resistor at the starter was failing after it got hot. spliced in a new one and no more issues.
|
Classic heat soak. Is the stock starter shield in place?
|
Do you have HEI?
|
crank=starter spinning.
start=engine runs |
Do you smell gas after a few minutes? My carburetor floods and it takes a lot to start it for that 20-40 minute window.

Hamster's leg caught in the wheel? |
Very very common.
My understanding is that the two main sources of this problem are: overheated starter (starter doesn't even attempt to roll over) and overheated carb. -Insulation around the starter helps with the 1st problem; insulating carb spacer solves the 2nd. -I had this happen to my car once in midwest heat 2 summers ago; mine was the starter overheating. Starter, used to carry 2x4 to give it a few love taps
